Very Healthy Gumbo Mix, + Insider Tips
I'm super sensitive when it comes to pepper & spicey food. I am SO glad this gumbo mix is neither too hot or too spicey! And my husband said he didn't know what brand it was, but to buy it again! Very healthy too! Low sodium, No MSG, no artificial anything! Inside Tip: whenever I use a commercial gumbo mix I always add 1 sautéd chopped onion and 1 stalk of celery, 1 cup chicken broth, a dash of Worcestershire sauce & a Tablespoon(+) of Kitchen Bouquet to get that beautiful dark brown roux that I love so much!

It asks for 8-10 cups water but i thought that be too watery so i put 7 and it was PERFECT! Verrrry tasty and just as i remember 100% satisfied!!!

My quick go to gumbo mix
I love this gumbo mix!! Perfect blend of spices gives it just the right about of heat. Great taste and easy to make!!

Need to adjust recipe
This mix is way too hot. Being from south Louisiana it's about rich flavors and not so much about heat. I used 9 cups of water as directed and added two large cartons of chicken broth to dilute heat and thickened with flour. Much improved. Kicked it up with diced chicken. No extra spice needed.
