(2 pack) Duncan Hines Dolly Parton's Favorite Coconut Flavored Cake Mix, 15.25 oz.

This is a very delicious coconut cake. It is coconut flavored which makes it extra flavorful. So good and moist. I used Dolly's delicious whipped butter cream frosting to top it along with sweetened coconut. To make it more festive tiny malted and chocolate eggs. This is going to be my go to donut cake.

I purchased this and Dolly's canned buttercream frosting, also box of instant lemon pudding for the filling, flaked sweet coconut and lemon extract to flavor the frosting. I put the frosting in a bowl and re-whipped to with my electric hand mixer adding 2tsp. of lemon extract. Then I mixed in coconut. Made the pudding and spread it between two baked, cooled cake layers. Frosted the cake then topped with more coconut. Best cake ever!!!

This made a really delicious fluffy cake. The flavor is perfect. i used her buttercream frosting %26 it was the only canned frosting that doesn't taste fake. I usually make homemade buttercream. i covered the frosted cake with coconut. Everyone loved it. Yes i have purchased this again. If i could give it 10 stars i would! !

I use this cake mix to make cake mix cookies. I added a box of pudding and some extra of coconut to the outside of the cookies. I didn't use frosting. I used softened butter and they came out amazing. you really should try them it's a fast easy way to make cookies.

Sometime after Thanksgiving my aunt said that she wanted a coconut cake which was just slightly before I discovered the Dolly Parton line of foods %26 since I really love Ms Parton, I knew that I had to give it a try. The first thing that I tried was the frozen shrimp %26 grits, it was pretty good then I discovered the coconut cake milk and the butter cream frosting so I bought them and told my aunt that I have a surprise for her on Christmas and not only did the surprise go over well for my aunt but also my mom!

This cake mix is so easy and delicious! I made the special version with vanilla pudding and sweetened coconut flakes. It was a big hit with family & friends.

Tastes like my homemade coconut cake. I add a bit of vanilla bean paste and and more coconut. I have used a vanilla bean whipped ganache to frost it also just a plain buttercream. You can't go wrong with this if you love coconut.

Typical first-class Duncan Hines cake! Next time I make it, I will add one package of instant coconut pudding.

I baked half the batter in a 6” mini round cake pan and the other half in a 6” mini bundt pan. I preferred the texture of the bundt cake. It almost tasted like pound cake to me. The texture of the round cake was very heavy, dense and was even difficult to cut after it sat overnight in the refrigerator. I covered the round cake with buttercream frosting and coconut and it was very good. I imagine if you bake it in a larger pan like you’re supposed to, it will turn out lighter and fluffier. I just wanted to experiment with my mini cake pans since a full size cake is a lot for 2 people to eat. I only marked it down a star because of the texture as described.

I love Dolly Parton was very excited to try her coconut cake as I wanted to bake one for my birthday. However, very disappointed I had to go back and buy a second box of cake mix, and do it all over again and then still they’re only about an inch high, even adding extra baking powder to the second one very disappointed in the quality of what they taste really good, but I had to make some bar type cookies out of them instead of making a birthday cake.
