it wasn't worth the price but it was interesting to just try it lol, i could smell the fried chicken outside!
I've bought this item every year because it is simply hilarious and I just can't keep myself from getting it. This year is even better with the opportunity to win a free 2 night stay for up to 8 people at a KFC themed log cabin in Kentucky! How legit! Hope I win haha
I wanted to buy another KFC log and send to a different address. But didn't see where you could put in different address than mine. I purchased a KFC log for me and got it and like it. But when went to buy one for a friend it only would take my address. So I had to cancel because I didn't want another one for me.
It's a fun gag gift to bring to a party. I brought this to a Christmas Eve bonfire and people were loving it. Those who are leaving bad reviews because there is no smell when you burn it are clearly not reading the packaging that says "ENJOY THE SCENT BEFORE BURNING, THE SMELL ESCAPES WHEN LIT". It has a smell but I think people are expecting it to smell like your face is in a bucket of chicken!
I bought a couple of the original KFC logs a couple of years ago and agree there was little to no KFC smell in my house. However, I went outside about 30 minutes after putting it on and my whole yard (neighborhood!) had the smell of the Colonel's 11 herbs and spices! I just ordered a couple of this year's version (for $5 each!) and will try one outside in a fire pit when it warms up a bit.
Wonderful premise, but doesn't deliver. There is a light, peppery sent before you light it but once it was lit we couldn't tell the difference between this log and a normal Duraflame log. We had gotten the kids hyped up about it and it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment for everyone
Sadly, the reviews that say it smells bad are correct. This thing, while still being sealed in a wrapper, inside a cardboard box, with plastic wrap over the box, reeks. The smell is hard to describe. It's absolutely nothing like fried chicken. It's like artificial smoke and waxy plastic. It's very unpleasant, and it lingers. It was shipped in a box with a can of food that I also ordered. The smell of the fire log permeated the label on the food can and now that still stinks. I threw the log out in the cold garage. Then when I went out to the garage a little later, I could smell it in the whole garage. Luckily it was garbage day, so it went right into the trash. There is no way I would want to bring that into my house and burn it. God knows what it would smell like if you lit it on fire. The stink got on my hands just from touching it, too. And stayed there for most of the day. They really screwed up on this product. Don't buy this. Regular Enviro-Logs are pretty decent but this one smells awful.
Got a couple of these to laugh about them with my wife and talk about them with friends over social media. Was excited to get one in the fire when they came in. Lit it up, didn't smell like anything. No KFC 11 Herbs and Spices smell what so ever. These are the biggest waste of money. If you go outside, however you will smell what smells like a restaurants fryer. I didn't pay $20.00 for two of these things to have to go outside to smell something.
This thing is disgusting! Does not smell anything like what they claim. It's waxed recycled cardboard and is mostly smoke than fire. It gives off a sickening chemical smell that you won't forget. I feel the EPA should know about these things. I was tricked into buying and burning someone else's trash.
I feel like suck a sucker for purchasing this complete waste of money. My best suggestion if you want KFC smells around your fire is to just buy a bucket of KFC chicken, eat the chicken and throw the bones in the fire. I am absolutely positive you'll get more KFC chicken smell than from this product.
