I tried this mix because it was labeled “no waste.” I was tired of the seeds dropping and sprouting in my flower bed. I was shocked at the result. Our feeder with video footage now gets over 150 visits a day. New birds are now visiting that we’ve never seen before. The feeder gets emptied in less than two days. It’s a bird magnet.
I love this bird seed. I was buying $80 worth of bird seed a month and most of it was going on the ground of the stuff that had the h u l l s still on them. it was a huge waste because all of the sunflowers were growing underneath the feeder because so much of it was getting tossed on the ground. this was more expensive, however, I'm down to one of these a month which is about 25 bucks I think? so it's a huge savings by having the mess free bird seed because they actually eat most of it and it doesn't just end up on the ground. other brands that claim to be no mess are just filled with peanuts and while everybody claims the birds love the peanuts I strongly disagree because they're too big for the two feeder and the little birds that eat there. they might eat a few of them but I do believe that they put this in for filler. I'm interested in feeding the birds not the squirrels. this type of bird seed has really cut down on the Starlings. while it looks expensive at first, it is well worth it in the long run because you will save a lot. I'm saving about $40 a month using this mess free version and from this company. I've tried other mess free versions from other companies and they are loaded with peanuts. this is the best but make sure and buy plenty because it sells out fast
This is one of the best seed mixes I have encountered! I have over a dozen different types of birds who flock to this in my feeders! There are finches, chickadees, titmouse, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers and the list goes on. Anything that falls to the ground is instantly picked up by the doves, sparrows and smaller birds!
i have multiple feeders in my yard, 1 of the feeders has a camera built in so i can see the wide variety of birds to come to the feeders to eat and return everyday so in my opinion they really love it a lot! squirrels also love it!
the birds love this product and so does the squirrels they climb up the squirrel proof Pole climb out on the limb and down to the birdhouse and break out the window to eat this food and it spreads it all over the ground and then the birds get to eat it I put the window back in the birdhouse it's a win-win for everybody and the birds eat all of the seed because there's no shell
It might be a little pricey, but it lasts longer than regular safflower. It doesn’t leave any mess whatsoever you use less in the long run and it goes much longer especially if you mix it with maybe some walnuts or some little peanut suet balls I don’t have a lot of money to feed the birds lately, so this is actually a better choice and it goes a lot longer. It’s a very, very good product high-quality.
This brand and mix, "3D", is absolutely the best quality wild bird blend I have found. I am in the high desert, so I'm feeding Jays, Woodpeckers, Curved Bill Thrashers, Finches, and more. This mix stands up to the name, No Waste! I admit, I tried using lower quality seed in the past- but that seed was just wasted and thrown out of the feeders. I have two large post-mount bird feeders, filled with this seed. I also provide water dispensers near the feeders, along with a couple bird baths. I am just loving all the avian life in my back yard! Excellent bird seed mix!
This is a great mix for people who'd like to feed the birds but don't want the mess of hulls. I feed on my deck and the birds seemed to enjoy everything except the peanuts. We don't have a lot of old trees in the neighborhood so not many jays or woodpeckers to feed on them. This has added vitamins for bird health and I really like that idea. I also LOVE the cherry scent! No issues with bugs or moths - a nice clean, quality bird feed that my birds and squirrel enjoy!
This particular seed should work well with a feeder that has really small holes for thistle and most tube feeders. The seed is chopped up very small. I would not use it in a hopper feeder or any feeder with an open tray on it. If it gets wet you will have a mess. I wish that they would stop putting synthetic vitamins on the bird seed. Is the seed so old that it has no nutrition in it? I know that some of the other types of feed that this company has nuts in it that are so old that when you try to break one of the nuts they bend instead of snapping in half. That is old. Synthetic vitamins are not helpful to the birds. It isn’t natural. If the product is fresh then it has all the nutrients that they need.
3D new package design no waste bird seed now adds a petroleum product, mineral oil which according to veterinarians can cause nutritional deficiency . digestive issues, and harm feathers that eventually do not sheild moisture from the birds, leading to hypothermia.Basically Mineral oil adds weight to the seed and makes it look pretty for consumers .
