I like the product, but the way it was delivered and handled was unsatisfactory to me because by the time I tried to open it, it was the bag was open and it was spilled everywhere so I'm not too happy about that. They need to check that the bags are sealed before they ship them and try not to throw them around put fragile on it or something. Thank you very much.
If you're going to put food out for squirrels, then late winter and early spring is the time to do it. They've eaten up all of their winter food, and maybe they need a little help. This contains mostly corn and a lot of sunflower seeds, and a couple of peanuts. Squirrels love it, Canada geese love it, and birds come take away the crumbs left over. Everybody wins!
My squirrels are flocking to my yard due to the contents in Penningtons Classic Squirrel %26 critter blend. Filled with many kernels of deliciousness even my rabbits are picking up some of the contents of this mix. This is now my product since my backyard critter activity has increased. The animals have spoken: buy this and watch us enjoy!
This critter mix is filled with fresh whole kernel dried corn, black oil sunflower seeds, and whole in shell peanuts. I love it, and my backyard friends love it too! Squirrels come for it, Blue Jays, and lately Crows, as we've had a serious start to our Winter here. It disappears right after I scatter it outdoors! It is very fresh and high in quality. I also like the ten pound bag, as it is easy to lift and maneuver. I highly recommend this Pennington Classics Squirrel and Critter Blend for your animal buddies outside.
There is sooo much full kernel corn. The critters are slow to take the corn not cracked. All other sunflower seeds and peanuts in shells are very limited compared to corn. I should have read more closely on the product. Cracked corn would have worked so much better.
The squirrels and birds love this mix, but the ratio of peanuts to corn to seeds is really unbalanced. Its mostly corn. There's not a lot of peanuts and to be honest, a lot of the corn is usually left behind. I'm starting to look into making my own mix because I feel like I'm wasting a lot of money.
I'm sorry But there was way too much mix and not enough nuts. I throw it out to my squirrels and they picked through to get the peanuts and the limited items they want and leave the rest. This is not a good value for the money when I have to just sweep it up and throw it away.
Something about the corn is wrong. The corn kernel is more square and flat than what is in the 3D mix Walmart seems to have discontinued. Even crows wont eat the corn in this mix. The other seeds are palatable to the squirrels, bunnies, crows and other birds.
I don't really like feta cheese but I had a mediterranean recipe that called for feta cheese. So I bought this because it's the lowest priced feta cheese that they had. Not a fan of this kind of cheese, but it worked well in the recipe so that that's why I recommend it.
Walmart discontinued the 3-D brand of critter food and only offers this one, but there is something terribly wrong about this food. The squirrels and birds will NOT eat this - especially the corn. This was never an issue with the 3-D brand. Something is not right with this critter food; it is going straight into the trash before it potentially makes a critter ill.
