For the past three years, I've had the pleasure of feeding the Pennington Squirrel %26 Critter mixture to the wild ducks and their little ducklings in my backyard. It truly warms my heart to see them happily gobbling it up, and they seem to appreciate the company of the squirrels, pigeons, doves, and other birds that join in. I always make sure to have a trough of fresh water available for them—it's so important for them to wash it down! I'm also incredibly grateful that Walmart delivers the 20lb bags to my second-floor home twice a month. It makes managing my little sanctuary so much easier. Thank you, Walmart, for your service!
If squirrels had a five-star restaurant rating system, this would be their Michelin winner. I bought the Pennington Classics Squirrel %26 Critter Blend Wildlife Food (10 lb) thinking I'd casually feed a couple backyard squirrels. What I actually did was open the hottest buffet in the neighborhood. Word spread fast. Within 24 hours I had: • 6 squirrels • 2 extremely confident birds • 1 raccoon who acted like he had a reservation The squirrels don't even hesitate anymore. They run straight to the feeder like, “Ah yes, the classics.” They've started judging me if I'm late refilling it. One of them sits on the fence and stares through the window like I forgot rent. The mix is fresh, hearty, and clearly squirrel-approved. No weird dust, no junk filler — just solid critter cuisine. Even the picky squirrel with the half-tail comes back for seconds. If you want to make friends with every furry and feathered creature in a three-block radius, this is the move. Will buy again. Probably in bulk.
Pennington Classics Squirrel and critter food is the best. It is packed with ingredients that the animals love. I purchased this when we had a major snowstorm with ice. The little animals couldn't dig up their food that they had hid and this came in just in time. The squirrels, songbirds and other birds flocked to the feeder. It's easy for them for picking up and they love it.
I love to watch the wildlife and this sure brings them in! It not brings to the feast of corn, sunflower seeds and peanuts, squirrls, rabbit, birds of different types ( especially Blue Jay and Cardinals) and even the deer!! I live in an apartment complex toward the end of town so some of the animals have come a little bit of a distance to feed. But apparently they LOVE it cause they're here every day/night!! 😊
The squirrels and birds love this mix, but the ratio of peanuts to corn to seeds is really unbalanced. Its mostly corn. There's not a lot of peanuts and to be honest, a lot of the corn is usually left behind. I'm starting to look into making my own mix because I feel like I'm wasting a lot of money.
There is sooo much full kernel corn. The critters are slow to take the corn not cracked. All other sunflower seeds and peanuts in shells are very limited compared to corn. I should have read more closely on the product. Cracked corn would have worked so much better.
I'm sorry But there was way too much mix and not enough nuts. I throw it out to my squirrels and they picked through to get the peanuts and the limited items they want and leave the rest. This is not a good value for the money when I have to just sweep it up and throw it away.
Something is wrong with the corn in the mixture. The peanuts and sunflower seeds get eaten quickly, as usual. But the corn is left for a week. They won't touch it. I end up scrapping it back up and try more, but they still will not eat the corn. The 3-D brand of the squirrel food was always gobbled up quickly, couldn't keep enough out by the tree for them. Squirrels, birds and the possums will not touch this corn. Please carry the 3-D brand again. I had even purchased several bags of this corn they won't eat.
It was delivered on my porch in the original plastic packaging . When I found it , squirrel had chewed open the package and there was feed all over my porch. Why would they not box it or put in outer package. Waste of my money and my time to clean up the mess.
I paid for a mix, this entire bag had less than a half cup of the peanuts. A half cup. Corn and some black sunflower seeds bought on your own would be the same thing and probably cheaper. I'll just go online to get things to feed the squirrels, because they won't touch this
