I've grown up with this hot sauce and so it holds a nostalgic and dear place in my heart. It's really not a one size fit all, kind of a hot sauce for me, but one that best enhances certain foods and types of cuisine. It's a very mild heat, and more acidic, vinegary than other hot sauces, and so I find it best compliments really heavy, oily, greasy foods by cutting through with its heat and acidity. I love it on breakfast potatoes, omelettes, toast, avocados with salt and pepper. It completes my hot sauce collection, and fills a purpose for application on certain food items.
Cholula green pepper is easily one of my new favorite hot sauces. The delicious green pepper flavor shines and pairs perfectly with chicken burritos. It has just the right amount of heat, enough to add a nice kick without overpowering the meal. I'll definitely be keeping this stocked! I received this product in exchange for my honest review.
I've been a Cholula loyalist for a long time now but haven't tried the chili garlic hot sauce until now. This flavor is amazingly addicting and versatile. I truly want to put it on everything from breakfast to soups and tacos. Although I received this product in exchange for a review, this will now be a staple in my house and will always have it on hand due to its great flavor and the variety of foods it tastes good on.
Cholula sent me this free sample for my thoughts on its Green Pepper Sauce. This sauce is great! I have been a classic Cholula fan for a long time and this is an amazing addition to the lineup. It tastes like a hot sauce version of a salsa verde from a taco shop. It has that deep green taste with garlic for more than just a mouth burn. I would say it it about as spicy as original Cholula maybe a tiny bit less burn. I am definitely adding this to my pantry and will reach for it over the original for many applications. Already got my wife on board, she loved it.
When I first saw this product it made me think of chili oil with garlic in it that I own. That chili oil itself is a good ingredient to make a sauce, though I would never eat it on its own. However, this hot sauce isn't exactly like that. I thought it was very good. For most things that have garlic flavoring, at least in my experience, tend to go overboard a bit, but I don't think this one did. Also, there are a good few hot sauces I find to be a bit too acidic and I don't particularly love that. This one didn't have either problem and was pretty tasty. I'll definitely get more.
[I received this item in exchange for an honest review] I've tried multiple types of Cholula brand sauces from the original hot sauce to the chamoy sauce and cremosa sauce. This one was definitely closer to the mild side than these three others but was just as good when it came to flavor. It still has a good amount of spice, just not overly so. This really delivers when it comes to the garlic component. This adds that spice and tang to chicken and I'm sure basically any protein of your choosing. Sometimes the original hot sauce can overpower a dish if you use a few too many drops but this one added a chili garlic flavor while still getting the meat or protein in the mix. I wouldn't say its weaker but more subtle than the original. Not to say that the original is bad though. I really like these cork(?) style bottles as it gets a good seal. It even adds a nice, authentic feel when it comes to design too.
Well some people like certain tastes and maybe not so much for juveniles But awesome for some others can easily spice up sandwiches atop mayo or mustird LOL or stir into scrambled eggs as additive hot sauce is rated in scoville units to simply explain such scale its low on scale AND No where close to Chinese mustard served at Chinese restaurant place However Cholula' ranges from 1,000 to 2,000 Scoville heat units, so it can be twice as hot. That's because of the chilies us... heat of Tabasco Original Red (2,500 to 5,000 SHU). thats an mental benchmark comparison "Scotch bonnet > Jamaican peppers" are range of above 100,000 SHU PepperScale
I love this brand. This flavor is truly that perfect taste for me in a hot sauce. I have a hard time with really spicy foods so this one has just enough but definitely not too much so I can actually enjoy the amazing taste. I use it on many dishes, definitely versatile. Highly recommended.
Tried this on a whim after getting a sample bottle and now I kind of can't stop using it. Really good on pork. The green pepper flavor is fresh and has a nice mild heat that doesn't just nuke your taste buds. Compared to other green hot sauces I've tried, this one feels more balanced, not too vinegary, not too spicy. Good size bottle too. Definitely buying it from now on as a good option for pork dishes, gotta try it on fish/seafood as well to see how i like it there. thank you for the sample.
I'm a BIG hot sauce fan and was so excited to try a new one. I eat eggs almost every morning and tried Cholula green sauce with it. It was delicious! The sauce has enough salt and savory flavor that I didn't need to salt the eggs. The flavor is sweet, mildly spicy, and tangy. The only thing that would have made it better is if it were a little hotter — this sauce is milder than what I would normally choose. I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are mine and not influenced by the company.
