I've seen some other reviews about the texture and taste not being very good. I happen to personally like these packets. I like the taste and the texture. I do have to agree there's not a huge serving in each packet but for me it's enough to make a sandwich with and still enjoy it. If you're looking for a piled up sandwich you might want to use two packets. For the price (although each packet price has gone up in the last month or so, I'd still affordable and is quick and convenient to use.
Tastes good but has the consistency of Taco Bell meat if that makes sense. The amount in the package is enough to make a very small sandwich. I don't mind the texture as the taste makes up for it. I eat as much as a small child or an elderly person so the amount in package was ok for me but a regular adult is going to want 3 of these to make a sandwich. Tastes really really good and the price is a definite plus.
I couldn't believe how good this is. Even though it is in a pouch it is the best BBQ sauce I have ever tasted. I'm 76! Just zip It open and squeeze the pack onto a bun or toast or crackers or INTO YOUR MOUTH! microwave, room temp or chilled straight out the pouch, doesn't matter, it's that good.
Don't let the pouch fool you—within this humble foil lies a slow-cooked symphony. Great Value's Pulled Pork in BBQ Sauce may be compact, but it hits like a flavor freight train from Memphis. Tender shreds of pork bathe in a smoky-sweet sauce that clings to your soul like a backyard summer night. Toss it on a bun, slide it into mac ‘n cheese, or devour it straight from the pouch like a cowboy with no time to explain. Barbecue justice has never been this convenient. 🐖🔥🍴
I loved the GV PULLED PORK in BBQ Sauce as it tastes and smells great and is good to eat for dinner (noon day meal) or supper. I originally bought this thinking like a PREPPER meaning "what would happen if the power went out for more than two days or up to a month and how do you eat without power as most foods require cooking or nuking in a microwave"? This pulled pork tastes good enough to eat it with a spoon out of the pouch cold and you'll want to cut open the pouch so you can lick up all the pulled pork and barbecue sauce that's stuck to the inside of the pouch. This food is even better warmed up in a microwave and eaten as a sandwich or with mashed potatoes or both. Please get back to selling the pulled pork as a 12 pack for $15.28. It currently went up in price where if I try to buy 12 pouches it will cost over $20. I like buying in packs of 4, 6 and 12 of the pulled pork, smoked salmon and chicken in pouches.
Once in awhile I crave a bbq pork sammy. When i do it from scratch it can get pricy. I love the fact that these are shelf stable and really taste great! Only enough in the pouch for one nice sandwich, so buy accordingly. I bought one last order to try it, and bought 3 on my next order if that tells you anything;)
We use this product on camping trips where we have no cooler and need something fresher than freeze dried food . Use on a tortilla or bread. Or for quick dinner with instant mashed potatoes.
well overall it is what it is (pulled pork) but what it isn't is good for much of anything because other then there isn't a whole lot of it to do anything with other then put it on a small corn tortilla and maybe have a decent micro taco taste is ok... texture is ehh mush... the price is kinda crazy for maybe a tablespoon of meat I'd say maybe good for a backpack or compact camping trip stick maybe 5 of these in your bag and go for a hike other then that I really can't see a practical use for such a small amount of meat especially at the price other then just for a specialty occasion or outting . I'm sure it's good for something but definitely not a "Great Value"
What were they thinking? This is sweet enough to be a dessert topping. Should be pork, tomato sauce and spice, not sugar. Otherwise it would be a convenient single serve snack instead of a dessert.
I wasn't expecting a ton of meat, but this pack is a joke - you'd be lucky to get half a sandwich out of it. I've bought similar packages with other types of meat before and they were always okay, so I thought I'd try this one. But this pork pack is seriously subpar. The texture was all wrong too - mushy and gross. Which of course made the taste pretty bad too. We actually think it would be better as cat food.
