I definitely prefer pouches to cans... easier and cleanlier to drain the water out of the pouch (plus less water) than the can. Taste is great in lettuce rolls and salad, hot and cold pasta dishes and salads, and plain old sandwiches. An economical meat alternative in these days of high cost meat.
So far so good with this "Great Value Chunk Light Tuna in Water, 2.6 oz Pouch". I only term it like that because even though so far I haven't had a single issue with tiny fish bones...by default those bones will eventually show up in tuna of any brand/type. That being said: I Like this Tuna!! Great source of protein; has a fairly mild fish odor (better than any name brand I've eaten); and is of a decent quality of tuna. I started purchasing it in bulk as my daily go-to protein. It is a bit dry (my personal preference) so I mix it with an individual tomoto sauce or applesauce to add moisture. I like also that it isn't salty 'cause I prefer adding my own salt or some sort of taco seasoning. I'm pretty impressed with the consistency of this walmart brand (great value) not compromising to save a penny. Not every product is perfect (for sure!), however, they care about the customer and do their best. Good job with this light tuna!!
I've resisted buying tuna in pouches for many years because the price per ounce is so much higher than canned tuna. Having recently onserved how much my cats love tuna, I bought this economy box (24) of pouch tuna. I'm impressed that there is no water in the pouch to drain, making it less expensive than I thought. The taste is good. I found it difficult to get all the tuna out of the pouch by only opening the top, so I cut it lengthwise as well. It made it easier to get all the tuna out and to rinse the pouch before putting it in the trash. No more stinky tuna liquid on the can opener, my hands, etc. to deal with.
I like these plain and also the ranch flavor. I'll mix the plain ones into those little mac and cheese microwave cups and it's great for a quick lunch at work. The ranch ones are perfect on 2 slices of bread with maybe a slice of cheese or to eat straight out of the pouch. The little bit of water chestnuts adds a satisfying crunch.
This tuna has a delicious flavor. I love adding it to my salads and making sandwiches too. The kitties love it too. It's a perfect flaky texture, and with a few added ingredients you have a delicious tuna salad. Much better than canned and makes a great on the go snack.
I had to buy some tuna for my kitten and also myself . This brand is a very good tasting brand in my opinion . For .88 cents , you really can't go wrong with a convenient package of tuna in a pouch . It came in a nice box and now I have plenty of tuna that I can share with my kitty .Now we can have a snack together and enjoy the days … I love my kitty cat and try to give her all the treats and finer things that I can give her within my budget . Thanks Walmart for making this tuna option a very reasonable price . I am forever grateful.
These are great for just a single sandwich or a salad topper. It's definitely more expensive than the can but there's also no waste so it really evens it out. It also tastes way better than the cans and not as salty either.
These tuna packets are great and very cheap. They literally kept me alive when I had to live in my car for 2.5 years in killer-hot Vegas heat while on waitlists for another apt. They don't have to be refrigerated and can be eaten with gluten free crackers. Keep a couple packets with plastic spoons in the car and the next time you see a homeless person, give them something to eat instead of money that could be used for drugs or alcohol.
I order this tuna quite often. I usually order the multipack of 6 pouches as I did this time. I received 1 pouch. I always have problems with every order. The problem is not with the products themselves, it's usually that I get the wrong number of items or none at all!
I NEVER RECEIVED THIS PART OF MY ORDER AND I GOT CHARGED FOR IT AND THEY NEVER REFUNDED MY MONEY EITHER SO IDK IF THEY DELIVERY DRIVER STOLE IT OR HE WAS JUST AN IDIOT AND LEFT IT IN HIS CAR. OR THE WALMART SHOPPER IS AN IDIOT AND SCANNED A ITEM THAT HE/SHE DIDNT PUT IT IN THE BAG EITHER WAY I NEVER RECEIVED THEM AND I ORDERED 2 SIX PACKS
