Checking the temp of everything

HarryPotterFan November 22, 2016

It's so fun to use. I check the temp of everything and am using it for things I didn't realize I would need it for. It also makes a good cat toy (but please BE WARNED: this is a class 2 laser, do not shine in a pet's eyes, or anyone else's as it can cause eye damage and lead to blindness. Be careful when using around pets). It is much easier to hold than a normal cat toy laser. I also use it to check the temp of my cat's IV fluids before I give them to her and her urine before testing it with urinalysis strips. Other uses are to check for poor insulation around your house.

Price and Quality

Sean December 22, 2024

Working in the HVAC trade, I needed a quick handheld to record temperatures in certain areas of the home, business in which we worked. I was only doing this part time so did not want to spend a fortune and was reluctant on this item with the low price. However, GREAT price and GREAT quality - they went hand in hand with this purchase.

Point your thermal device in the room. Wait about thirty seconds for the temperature on the device to become steady to get a accurate reading.

Absolutely love. Those can opener. It's easier to handle an easier for me to hold on to.Although it did take a little bit of trial and error to figure out exactly how to get the lid of the can off of the can opener. overall, I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

HT Infrared Thermometer

OldDude January 16, 2017

I've never used this kind of thermometer, so it seems pretty cool. The quality of construction is good - seems like it will hold up. It's also easy to use. My only complaint is that it even though it has a separate on-off button, it comes on whenever you push the trigger, which is very sensitive. While that doesn't sound like a bad thing, unless you are very careful, you generally touch the trigger when you go to pick it up and it's a bit unsettling to have the red laser beam instantly pointing to whatever, including your eye or at someone standing near you. I just got it and have tried to get a feel for it's accuracy - the readings seem reasonable, but I need to figure out haw to verify them. Overall, it's very simple to use, easy to read, and will be a handy tool to have around.

Nice Thermometer but..........................

ss November 11, 2020

This infrared thermometer has a nicely laid out display that is easy to read. The back light that comes on when you pull the trigger shows up the numbers quite well. The battery compartment is easy to access by pulling forward on the top of the black portion of the handle. There is a place for a wrist loop at the bottom of the handle but it does not come with one. It is easy to swap between Celsius and Fahrenheit by just pushing the C/F button on the back. The temperature will be variable as long as you hold down the trigger, and when you let good it will keep displaying the last temperature and the max temp for about 10 seconds until it auto shuts off. When you are holding the trigger it will keep track of the max temp since the trigger was first pushed. It is supposed to measure from -58F to 1022F. The Red Laser dot is easy to see and is nice for finding what you are taking the temperature of. The scale on the side of the meter gives you an idea of how big of circle you are measuring at what distance. All of that is good, BUT comparing it to several other thermometers that all read fairly close, this one was reading about 5 degrees lower than the actual temperature, which seemed to get worse the higher the temperature. So all in all I like the meter, but it needs to be accurate, I don't know if that was a problem with just this one or if they all have that problem, and as far as I can tell there is no way to calibrate it.
