I used to buy yoders corn meal mush for haft the price, this is expensive for what it is, should be much cheaper. walmart needs other brands of corn meal mush thats cheaper in price.even a great value brand this is just cornmeal %26 Water cooked and put in a tube.
I love fried cornmeal mush and that's basically what polenta is. I've bought about 12 tubes/rolls/packs of this polenta to date. I can quickly slice and fry it whenever I'm in the mood for it, especially when I'm don't have the time to cook cornmeal and let it set up overnight. This polenta has everything going for it: the taste, texture, it's shelf stable, easy to use, and it's affordable! The only thing, but it isn't a big issue, is that the polenta slices don't turn golden brown and crispy as quickly like mush does; or it could be I'm in a hurry to eat it. Ha! I honestly recommend San Gennaro polenta, it's a comfort food and delicious.
I can not find what they used to breakfast mush any longer. Since I was a child we would grill it in place of hash browns for breakfast. This is the same as mush. I now air fry it and my husband uses syrup on it. It is delicious.
Deeply appreciative of WalMart and grateful to Walmart for offering this product. Such a blessing and a relief to have found this product at a local Walmart. Sadly, it is no longer available.
I’ve lost 20lbs in 22 days doing a. Calorie deficit and this polenta is my dinner every single night. It is only 400Calories for the entire tube, gluten free, so filling. I can’t say enough about it!
Very hard to find this polenta. it is very convenient in the tube because it is already prepared, you just have to cut how much you want and heat. It is delicious cut in rounds and air-fried!!
This the one I buy when I don't make it myself. super quick to prepare, take it out of the wrapper break it up %26 then mash it so it is like the consistency of Grits adding some veggie broth or milk or just some water in before heating, can be done in a microwave too, to finish I stir in some fresh grated Parmigiano Regiano ( the real thing ) makes all the difference.
Tried this product and prepared it according to the instructions. It was nothing close to what is desirable. So, I had about half the 'loaf' let over. I sliced it very thinly and put the slices into the air fryer to make polenta chips. It worked out well. It was a reasonable solution for the leftovers. But, I would not make the decision to buy it again to continue this process. It was simply a means to saving money.
These are slimy and disgusting. One of them was rotten and ruined an entire pot of soup. I recommend tasting it first. One of them tasted like pinesol and unfortunately I did not taste it before I had put half of it in the soup so had to throw then entire pot away. Just don't even bother -- make it from scratch
Worst Polenta I’ve ever purchased. There was so much water in the roll that even after laying it on paper towels to drain I couldn’t get a slice. Broke apart into tiny grains. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY, YOUR TIME or YOYR ENERGY TRYING TO INCORPORATE THIS PRODUCT INTO A DISH!
