I cut my leg on a footstool 3 days before Christmas. 6 stitches and some antibiotics later the ER dressed it in a non-stick pad and taped it over the wound. I was told to change it twice daily. These are the perfect size and kept it covered and clean. I have to cover it for at least a month as I'm immunosuppressed. These pads are a lifesaver. Easy to take off without damaging my skin and they have kept any dirt (or cat hair!) off my skin. It's healing nicely and doesn't look infected at this point. These are reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend this product if your a frequent flyer like me when it comes to the doctors office or E.R. 5 stars!
I keep a very well stocked med bag and these are crucial to having a complete stock of bandages ready to go. I use sport tape to hold the pad in place over the injury, rather than any sort of sticky tape because my skin is fragile now and some adhesive bandages are so aggressively sticky that they pull my skin off, making a bad thing worse. These don't do that. They protect the injury and when you remove them, they don't complicate the issue by opening the wound they are meant to protect. Very pleased with these!
Easy to use. The product is covered in Telfa. Telfa is a thin pourous plastic coating on both sides of the gauze. Telfa keeps gauze from sticking to the wound and reopening the wound as you take off the dressing. The wound can properly heal by not being reopened. And when you go to change the dressing it doesn't hurt. There are two thin strips of adhesive along the long side of gauze pad. They hold the pad in place securely. I use these gauze pads all the time for myself and members of my family. Bandaids for little scrapes but this 3" x 4" dressing is ideal for the bigger scrapes.
I like this bandage as the base for elastic wound coverage especially on the 3” x 4” size. I like being able to have some adhesive on the sides to hold the pad in place to receive elastic adhesive wrapping. The bandage stays in place on my wound because of this feature, I'd buy it again.
I love using these Equate Non-Stick Pads to protect fragile skin. It sticks but doesn't pull on the skin at all. It is perfect for both younger and older skin for covering wounds as it doesn't ever hurt to remove it, Perfect for fragile skin! Highly recommend this great product from Walmart. Thank you Walmart. Plus it is affordable.
These are good for covering burns or flat skin scrapes. When you take them off they don't take the surface of the wound with them. I'd like to see a wider or even just stickier strip of adhesive tabs on the sides though.
These compresses are easily applied and effectively absorbent, but I needed an elastic compression bandage to keep them in place on my leg between changes.
These are easy to use, the adhesive tabs worked well for me. Easy to apply and stayed put even thru the night. It's a nice idea but could use some improvements. My 2 complaints are 1) the adhesive tabs made me itch horribly and left sores but for me that happens even when I use hypoallergenic paper tape, so no surprise. 2) If there is much bleeding or fluid drainage, these are not very absorbent. The non-stick claim is mostly true but if there is drainage or bleeding, they are easy to remove but they do stick a little. They don't stick like gauze or other bandages just minor sticking from the fluids.
The measurements are for the entire pad, including the sticky part. The actual useable measurement inside of the tab is only about 1 inch width wise, which is useless. I do not recommend these. Unfortunately, these were a curbside and they were the only non stick ones available at our Walmart (30 minutes away). I stupidly bought a 4 pack of them too. Now, I have to do a Walgreens delivery or curbside to get ones without tabs.
Review of Equate Non-Stick Pads with Adhesive Tabs - The photo on the package shows the 1/2" wide adhesive strip on the edge of the width side but is actually along the length making the coverage area 2" X 4" which is very limiting if you're dealing with a much larger wound.
