(4 pack) Read German Potato Salad, 15 oz

In the military years ago stationed in Germany I was introduced to this rare version of warm potato salad. Me and my wife fell in love with the variation and found it years after returning to the States with German food syndrome which means we missed some of the best food we ate while stationed there .This potato salad is the closest we found to what we experienced there. Maybe a hint to much vinegar in the recipe but besides that it's pretty close.

Until recently, this item was not available from Walmart. Now you can have it shipped and the item itself is cheaper than HEB. And with the Walmart sub, shipping is free. I was adopted by German parents and they would cook this. Same brand, same taste. Toss in some polish sausage and it's exactly what I remembered. I hope they never stop making this.

My Grandmother was German American and when she died her German Potato recipe died with her so Read's German Potato salad is as close to grandma's as I can find and approve of...just needs more bacon bits to be absolutely perfect!!! Thanks to Read's for making a quality product that reminds me of my Beautiful Grandmother and many Happy Memories of her preparing it!!! Grandma was born in 1885 and died in 1975...she was 90 years young!!!

The potatoes are sliced instead of cubed. The combination of vinegar and sugar makes a tasty contrast between sweet and acidic. There's a hint of bacon flavor which adds a third taste. I wouldn't mind if the potatoes were cooked and additional minute, but I'll still buy it again. Delicious potato salad. Glad I discovered it, thanks to Walmart , my favorite store.

This is always a big hit at our church's potlucks . Very hard to find sometimes but usually they have it here. Great taste always and I've used this product for years. I highly recommend it.

Items shipped from AZ. After traveling for 3 days the items arrived in Orlando, FL. the cans were extremely hot to the touch. Concerned about this potato salad due to exposure to extreme heat during transit. Afraid to eat it.

I ordered four cans of this item and three were damaged during shipping due to insufficient packing materials in the box. Two of the damaged cans had major dents in the side and one had a dented lid preventing use of a can opener. Not a good start to my Walmart renewal. Images will be added to other internet social media websites if this is not remediated.

I love German potato salad. I was too lazy to make it and order 2 cans to see how they tasted. They were tasteless. Just horrible. Boy, my mouth was really ready for some good German potato salad too! If you like it like me, make it yourself or find a different brand. Maybe check deli.

This is NOT the same as we got back in the day, no bacon bits, too much vinegar, mushy, to much sugar, and etc, completely different tasting than before . Please anyone wanting what we use to get don't waste money, or time on this minus 5 star can, is gross!!!

I ordered 4 cans and they were shipped to me. The box was undamaged. 3 of the 4 cans were very dented. Are they shipping merchandise that would be unsalable in store? Very displeased.
