At times when money gets tight, Great Value products come in right on time with pennies on a dime! I have been on a roll with these great value mac and cheese side dishes/meals. They have different styles of pastas to fit your dining style and the cheese melts easy and is the right texture of creamy and cheesy! I'm a spiral girly myself and at .58 cents a box, Chile, I haven't gone wrong yet, and it ships and arrives same day! Make sure your apart of the Walmart family where you'll get free shipping and No Minimum fee!
I have bought Great Value Mac %26 Cheese forever. Compared to name brand it's just as good. Why pay more just because you grew up eating that high priced pasta? I refuse to be stuck on brands and I'm willing to try something new. I buy quite a few Great Value products and this one is always in my cupboard.
These Great Value boxed spirals and cheese has more cheese flavor than other, more pricy, brands. Easy to prepare, only takes a few minutes. Our entire family enjoys these, as well as, the traditional Great Value Mac n cheese. Other brands may look more "cheesy", because of the added food colorings, but in our opinion, these GV spirals and cheese has a more authentic "cheese" flavor.
I have always eaten my Mac and cheese with tuna which makes it more o re nutritious and ads a flavor that makes the cheese flavor not so prominent or important. By important I mean that Kraft cheese flavor isn't key, which would make any other brand not register the same. The flavor is great but when the brain is thinking Kraft you are comparing so you have to adapt to a new flavor. I have chopped up hot dogs as well and that is also yummy though the flavor of the tuna or hot dog becomes important.
We get these by the 6 pack. We've gotten soo many and at a really great price! The cool part is each time the cheese packet is after the noodles so I don't have to retract or catch it cause it's perfectly at the bottom. I love %26 appreciate the little details.
Let's start with the obvious: spirals > elbows. The sauce clings to those corkscrew noodles like it signed a long-term lease. Every bite is coated in glorious, cheesy commitment. This 5.5 oz box may look humble, but don't let it fool you. It's shelf stable, dependable, and ready to pasta-tively save dinner at a moment's notice. The flavor is sharp enough to be grate, but mellow enough to avoid any dairy-atic behavior. Now here's the pro tip that will make you feel like a mac %26 cheese wizard: Open the box from the bottom. Yes. The bottom. The cheese powder packet slides right out without having to go digging like you're on an archaeological expedition for cheddar treasure. You're welcome. Prepared as directed, it turns creamy and smooth without clumping up or acting bleu. Add a splash of milk and butter and suddenly you're living la vida lactose. It pairs beautifully with meaty ham and green beans, making it the ultimate comfort-food accompaniment. That classic “grandma's weeknight dinner” lineup? This fits right in like it was dairy-signed for the job. Is it gourmet five-cheese truffle mac? No. Is it a gouda time every single time? Absolutely. It's affordable, reliable, and cheesy enough to make you smile without being overly fondue of itself. Five stars. Would absolutely spiral into this again. 🧀✨
Best box Mac n cheese out there. ShopRite roni's are too small, Kraft I have to add American cheese to get a good flavor but these Brand I don't do anything too it but make sure I have the right amount of butter/milk to make it creamy n it's so good!
Easy to make, easy to eat. The only downside is the sodium content for eating the whole box and you'll probably eat the whole box. Even if you add 4oz of sautéed mushrooms %26 a chopped up faux meat burger into it, you'll eat the whole thing. So delicious, but high in sodium. Keep it as a weekend treat, may two boxes at the price, plus the neon 'cheese' powder looks nice!
Giving a bad rating because the ingredients on the box don't match those on the website--and the website is apparently correct, because the paprika for color tried to give me anaphylaxis. The product is probably fine if you have no allergies. But if you buy it specifically based on what the box claims is in the cheese packet, I guess it's a minefield!
I purchase these often as a fave of my kids….what arrived today though…just 2 mo before expiration which was odd for a shelf stable item but upon opening multiple boxes, I found the noodles darker than usual and the cheese packs hard but continued bc it was dinner time. The end result was funky looking noodles and cheese that was just, weird! None of the 4 kids would eat it which is NUTS normally it's devoured! I don't know what happened with their last shipment but we will steer clear for a while! Loaded a pic and you can see it's not even orange plus the noodles are missing the spiral pattern!
