Excellent rice. A minute thirty in the microwave and you have delicious Japanese type rice. Sooo good!
Love this just wish they would carry the 6pk in stores
I love sticky rice and I live on my own and it is hard to cook for one. This is still 2 servings for me, but better than ending up throughing out a bunch that is wasted.
very convenient
this is amazing good it does need to stay n the fredge which idk why it was delivered with out ice packs since it took more than 2 days to arrive. other than tht i am picky person especially wit rice so this was good n easy. (good on its own or with sushi, onigiri etc.)
When I first received these I was a bit concerned because they were already in little bowels but after trying them they worked very nicely. I placed them, after microwaving for 1 1/2 minutes, In a bowel along with some pasta I had and the result was very nice. They were the perfect size to use as an addition to pasta.
I seen some reviews that mentioned it being gooey/mushy. When I saw that this was good for sushi, I knew it was going to be more in line with being similar to sticky rice. What you are looking for is long grain rice which is the fluffy/more separated once cooked. Short Grain is even more clumpy than this and what they usually use for Sushi making as it is sticky. I wanted to try this as I usually get the longer grain rice. I knew what I was expecting so the more gooey texture was expected. Which is when someone cooked it multiple times it was the same each time. It isn't that it was bad rice but that if you want the least mushy then you need to get the long grain rice. So for any others want to try this, expect it to have a more mushy texture. My daughter liked it well enough by itself then we made some things with it. Sushi Burrito Rice Pudding Fried Rice My Mom had lived in the Philippines and Japan when my Grandpa worked overseas. My Grandma is Filipino. So we had rice cooked different ways while growing up.
This rice is convenient. The taste was fine. It is very fast and easy to prepare. Don't expect much from the consistency, though. Since it says that it is excellent for sushi I did expect it to be 'stickier' than regular rice. But this is so gooey I don't see how you would be able to form it into sush rolls. Too soft. It might make good glue, though.
Threw away all 10 that I purchased because it was mushy and tasted like sour soap. Tried both the microwave and stove top method, results were the same - completely inedible. If we weren't in the middle of a pandemic, I would have promptly returned them for a refund. I ignored the previous review that said they were gooey, thinking that person had just gotten a bad batch and continued to buy. I can confirm it isn't a bad batch problem. Nishiki should be ashamed of themselves.
I've purchased this rice many times before and really liked it, but this batch of 10 bowls was just terrible! Gooey, gooey, gooey, close to being like paste no matter how long I heated it in the microwave oven, 2 minutes, 1.5 minutes, 1 minutes. always the same result. Very disappointed.
