Works to keep squirrels out. Holds a lot of seed for such a small looking feeder. Easy to refill. Price is kinda high but most anything you buy is now days
We had an identical feeder for many, many years, until the squirrels destroyed the hinges. This is a fresh start, and the squirrels haven't even tried to break into it. Yay! So, the songbirds have a fresh source of seeds, without the hassle of the bigger critters.
These are the best bird feeders because squirrels are not able to get to the seeds. So happy I found this on Walmart, you are the best. This will last forever for me , had one years ago that my husband bought for me for Christmas and it lasted many many years. Thank you Walmart
Birds love it and shuts out squirrels 😝
This is the first squirrel-proof bird feeder I've bought that ACTUALLY works! Squirrels tried to get to the seed for the first week and finally admitted defeat. I love the fact that it holds so much food and the way it's angled keeps the food towards the front. I'm going to buy another and throw out my other feeders.
Great product , if you enjoy feeding the birds and watching Them come and go this is what you need , well build bird friendly and a great squirrel deterrent.
Seems sturdy enough;very low profile compared to one I purchased at Walmart almost 20 years ago and would still be using if not for a Bear raid. I am bringing the new one in every night. Birds seem to be getting used to this one. Squirrels have left it alone so far. Would recommend for purchase.
As for the shipping from "Promax Supply on EBAY", the purchase web page stated quite clearly, "Delivery on July 14". It actually came on July 12, while I was still out of town. It's amazing it wasn't stolen from my porch. The packaging for shipping was very crude: no padding between the shipping box and the delicate retail box. The retail box was actually 2 boxes cobbled together "skin-tight" to the retail box, and by the time it got to my porch, the box was coming open in several places. There was a deep gouge in the shipping box, which carried thru into the retail box, but fortunately missed the product, only by a cat's whisker. The top of the feeder apparently took a hit in shipping, as it was bent down slightly causing the roof of the feeder to pucker out where it hinges, but the feeder still seems to be functional, other than the paint cracking and popping off right at the puckers. As for the product, it seems pretty nice. Not as heavy as I was expecting, but it seems to function as advertised, and the fact that it came with post-mounting hardware was nice--it will mount on pipe or 4x4 wood (3.5" max"). I have only just mounted it this morning, but at this time I would recommend it to a friend, but I would not recommend this seller (ProMax).
The feeder seemed fine on opening the box, a little tricky getting it to stay securely closed, but now 4 weeks after purchase the too small wires that keep the bird roost bar (or squirrel baffel bar) working are not engaged and broken. This is very dissapointing. Not sure how new spring wires can be attached or what can be done about it. I've got squirrels hanging off the bar, snitching bird seed and birds unable to get to the seed because of the non working mechanism. My old one of almost 20 years with a gravity adjustable mechanism is still working.
I should just return it, but I haven't had time. The squirrels keep bending the thin metal base evertime they jump on it. Don't buy it.
