(8 pack) Great Value Tomato Sauce, 15 oz

My mother always paid extra and used Hunt's tomato sauce. I only use Walmarts store brand. It's just as good as the name brand and I do save a little bit of money. I will continue using Walmart store brand. I would recommend this tomato sauce to anybody.

I have never had a problem with Great Value products. Always first-class products. With the exception of one thing. The cottage cheese. This cottage cheese did not display near the creaminess of the main-line product. It was dry and water-separated.

I find that the great value vegetables of all kind are just as good or better than some that you pay extra for. I always have one or two in my pantry.

I tried this for a sauce I was making for a lasagna dish. I thought for the price I would be disappointed instead it was great. Turned out just fine and being used with other spices and all the other ingredients you'd never know. Everyone loved the dish and I had NO LEFTOVERS, so that says it all.

My dear husband and I are enjoying an empty nest. We have made the transition from a family of four to a family of two. This sauce is just the right size to make one meal for the two of us. It is pasta sauce without the frills. So I jazz it up by adding browned ground turkey, garlic and onion powder and shaking a little Italian seasoning with a couple pinches of sugar to the sauce and it's like eating Ragu, (besides opening those big jars of pasta sauce takes an act of congress)😞 and I don't have to worry about what to do with the leftovers because there are none. Toss the can in the trash, easy peasy.

I used this tomato sauce as part of a recipe for a homemade "spaghettios" type of dish. The sauce needed to add thickness and sharp tomato flavor to the dish and this did that very well. It smelled and looked appetizing in the can and seemed to be pretty fresh. It was every bit as good as a name brand tomato sauce.

I like to mix half tomatoe sauce, a couple of spoons of tomatoe paste, with half diced tomatoes. Great Value brands of course. when cooking chili, meat balls, or spaghetti dishes.

I bought 3 cans of WalMart brand along with 3 cans of a brand name. I made 3 batches of chili. I'm not a big fan of the flavor or texture of the WalMart brand yet I like to save money. When I can mix two brands together, I get the benefit of both - saving money and getting flavor from the brand name. I recommend everybody use it this way.

Product is great but have ordered numerous times and all the cans are shipped dented. Walmart did give me a refund.

Both cans badly damaged. Apparently dropped during shipment. Damaged cans may cause botulism. This was a pickup. I received expired bread and dented can goods. Groceries are normally good but workers do not check can damage or expiration dates.
