very sturdy and solid wood. well worth the price. I use it to sew on every day, as I did not want a big bulky desk to sew on , nor did I want something made out of particle board that I had to be worried about falling apart. It took me a good 3-4 hours to put it together following the instructions, step by step. I like the fact that it is a drop leaf on one end and not a fold over type of table. Less chance of you slamming your fingers or dropping the top down. One suggestion: use short wood screws instead of the tiny one that they give you to put the hinges and sides on with.
This table is all wood. The quality was good. You have to be careful to use the correct size screws for each step. I use the wrong screws in one of the early steps and had to dig into my own screws. That wasn't a big problem for me but you have to be careful. The only other thing is putting the 7 drawers together got a little tedious. I still finished in one day. My wife loves it.
I am so impressed with this table. It is made of solid wood. I'm not going to admit how long it took me to put it together, but that is because it is solid wood. You need use some elbow grease. That's really not a complaint. It's a really nice piece of furniture that should last a long time. And it fits 12x12 paper (for those who have a Cricut).
We bought this Sewing Table to use in a small space. First, I was pleased with the quality of the components, it is solid wood and well-made. The instructions were very clear, if complicated. I'm a 78 year old woman but I can handle a hammer and screwdriver. That's all it takes to put it together. Only one place in the instruction process had room for improvement and that was in the assembly of the drawers; they needed to have the holes pre-drilled. like the rest of the cabinet. And don't use all the small nails in the back panel as instructed. You will need 14 saved out to secure the drawer bottoms. Other than that, we are very pleased. It fits in a small space and the gate leg attachment is perfect to open up for sewing. I highly recommend this product.
Looks great and is really nice quality - solid wood! The ONLY reason it is not getting 5 stars is because it was an absolute pain to put together and took hours.
It is a pain to put together and it's a little stiff but otherwise completely worth it. I would say if you have been sewing for years and you need a lot of storage it might not be for you.
would of rated higher but it says no power tools. started putting it together and many holes nit predrilled. you cant habd screw through knotholes. on drawfront cracked due to this . I made templates and predrilled remaining holes . holes fir support for swing out top. in wrong place. but it came out very nice .
Like others have said it takes awhile to put together, the dowels vary in size, no pre drilled holes, the wood splits easily . Directions say not to use a drill but after splitting the drawers trying to screw the screws in, I did make pilot holes and use the drill very slowly. Also, heaven forbid they should provide extra nails. All in all a pain in the butt to put together. It took me close to 8 hours including going to the local hardware store for more wood nails and wood glue. I would not recommend.
Assembly was generally fine. Yes, like the other reviews said, it would have been nice if the drawers had pre-drilled holes to get the screws started, but I've got a drill and it wasn't a big deal. What *IS* a big deal is that the screws to attach the wood slot under the fold-down part are longer than the wood is deep. They came through the top while tightening. See photos. For what I paid and my intended use it's not worth sending back but it shouldn't have happened.
bottom of draws r partial board. the back is also partial board. all of this cabinet is not sold wood. it wasn't easy to put together either. the side leaf does not go down flush w the side of the cabinet. if new all this I would not have bought it.
