There really is difference between the generic ibuprofen pm and Advil pm. Advil PM works fast and only need 2 or tablets to help with my back pain through the night. Generic brands take more than twice the amount and don't last as long so the extra money for Advil is well worth it.
I suffer from osteoarthritis, and before I started taking these, I would wake up in so much pain, toss and turn. MY dosage is half a caplet because thats all it takes! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
It only takes one. I wouldn't ever take more than 1. Sometimes I only take half of one. That's me though. I can still wake up if I hear a noise outside, and that's the way I want it. Can't have the world crumble and not be aware that's happening. I wouldn't take them every night. Use sparingly is my advice.
I have been taking 4 Ibuprofen when needed, at least once a day, for about a year. Now, with a new shoulder replacement, I added the nighttime version. I take it when I haven’t been able to sleep for a few nights, and it does a fabulous job- all by itself. I don’t want to take more medication than needed so everything is limited by what I need and it’s comforting to have Advil PM to help me through painful sleepless nights.
Excellent for night time pain relief %26 sleep! I would only recommend one %26 take it to get ahead of the pain or sleep time. You can't take it %26 jump in the bed %26 put me to sleep!
The pills are easy to swallow, after a long day of work it puts my husband and I straight to sleep. Neither of us feel lethargic the next morning. Highly recommend.
Fantastic! If you didn’t know…this is a product made with Benadryl which offers the drowsiness effects. I love Advil because Tylenol was too toxic for my liver. The benadryl in the Advil PM that I buy is 38 mg…THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME. NOTE: Benadryl comes in 25 mg increments in most cases. 25mg wasn’t enough to help me relax and have a good sleep, 50 mg (2 Benadryl pills) made me feel drugged, dopey, and just awful the next morning…and cotton mouth was bad. This Advil PM is perfect as it’s in between the 25-50mg in offering 1 tablet of Advil (ibuprofen) with 38mg of Benadryl! You don’t have to cut the Benadryl in half anymore, and experience the horrendous taste of it. That’s how I figured out how much Benadryl I wanted! Brilliant! I never suffer from allergies either, so I’m sure the Benadryl has something to do with that. I try to skip taking it from time to time so my liver isn’t processing these, but…THESE WORK FOR ME. Look for the 38mg on the box though.., be sure to check for yourself as I saw one package that was 25mg of Benadryl. NOTE 2: I take one tablet 2-3 hours before I want to be asleep. It takes awhile to take effect. It also stays in my blood stream 12 hours…so, I try to take one tablet 12 hours before I want to be awake and NOT GROGGY! I can wake up in the night to do other business, but I easily fall back sleep! It works! Practice your own schedule and see what works!
In the worst year of my life and with all my aches and pains I really needed something to help me sleep. These can work a little too well. Never take them while driving or during your workday. Do not take them with other medications. These put me into deep sleep and on occasion I felt like I almost missed my alarm but I didn't. They can sometimes make you dizzy depending on whatever is going on with your body that day. Sometimes uncoordinated. Definitely a take before bed and get in bed medication. I only take 1 to 2 a night. I used to take more but that was causing physical problems so I really cut down. My old family doctor used to tell me he took diphenhydramine at bedtime. This is basically Benadryl for those who don't know. Also don't worry you won't sleep through going to the bathroom, that has never happened to me but you will feel very tired and want to get back in bed.
I have never used Advil pm before but I was aching so bad I decided to try them it really helped so I will keep them on hand if I have this problem again
I’ve been using this product for many years for migraines and other injuries and it does work well for pain but like everything else you build a tolerance. Whether it’s a psychological condition or whatever the case may be I feel it does have an addictive effect. Although they’re not a narcotic but my body feels aching and I can’t sleep without it.
