AIRCARE MA1201 Whole-House Console-Style Evaporative Humidifier, White

Works well in our open living, dining and kitchen area. Bedrooms and bathrooms that are isolated from the main living area get a little (approximately 20 percent) of the amount that the living area gets. But they are down hallways with only normal doorways for air circulation. House is 2300 sqft 1 story. Unit is easy to fill with water via a tank on the side that just lifts off by a top handle and can be filled in a normal kitchen sink by laying it on its side and swinging the faucet over the side fill port. Controls are simple and easy to understand and operate. Some people have said they have had problems with leaking around the castors due to cracks, so I left the casters off and set it on the floor. No problem so far with leaks. That was the only consistent issue I noticed in all the reviews I read and this unit had better reviews than the other mostly more expensive units.

I already have the smaller model that looks the same, but has less than half the water tank capacity at 2 gallons, and is not heavy enough when fully loaded with water to need any wheels. Love it. Love the new big one too. The big version is simple to operate, construction design makes it most unlikely to leak, it is quiet at low speeds and effective in a large space. Four speeds for the fan, as opposed to three on the small one, but it also has a speed marked A for automatic. This is a fantastic additional feature. The further the humidity drifts away from the desired setting, the faster the fan speed, and vice versa. No need to constantly monitor the humidifier and reduce noisy fan speed by hand. The MA 1201 does it for you. Recommended.

I have an 1100 sq. ft. unit and this humidifier works perfectly. I set it on F1 so it's quiet. I live in Wisconsin and set it on 30 and during the winter everything is hunky dory. This unit was a replacement. Unfortunately they don't last forever. I change the filter yearly. Get generic ones off the Internet for about half price. They look exactly the same.

This is my first humidifier purchase., besides the tiny old one that we used to use when we got sick. I live in Eastern Washington and it is very dry in my home. It was very easy to set up. I filled it and set it to auto at 40. My humidity gauge said 18 in my house. Within a couple of days of filling it 2-3 times a day it brought my home up to a healthy level. Now I only have to fill the top tank once and it lasts at least a day. I placed it on the upper level in my 2400 sq ft home. My humidity gauge is on the lower level. I thoroughly recommend this unit to anyone who is thinking of purchasing.

LOVE IT! ... FOR SO MANY REASONS ... ... ... it "REALLY" makes a difference in the comfort level in our home (with forced air heat and these extreme cold winter temperatures ... ) and our bodies (no more drying of skin and nasal passages) ... ... really pumps out the moisture - need to refill daily, but is quite simple ... ... ... placed unit in 1st floor hallway and moisture get sucked into cold air returns and distributed throughout the house ... ... good deal > good product !!!!

I previously was using a smaller humidifier thinking it would do the job but it just was not keeping up with my furnace due to the colder weather. So I looked on here for something with more power. And found this machine. It works wonders! My old one could only cover one room while this one could cover the whole home. It works great!

This unit works very well and keeps our bedroom and most of the rest of our home very comfortably humid at 45%. It is easy to set up, control both the humidity level and fan speed. The unit is very quiet and easy to refill without getting water all over the place like some other units we have had. The two gallon capacity makes it especially nice for really cold nights when our baseboard heating system tends to dry the air.

This is a great humidifier. I didn't want one that uses heat/steam because they are too costly to run and I didn't want one that vaporizes room temperature water either (you end up with a puddle around the machine). This one works differently bu forces air through a wick that is moistened and the result is a great way to control the humidity level. It is easy to operate as well. I have always told family and friends about this product. The winter air in my home feels much better and my skin is not as dried out. Great product!

This is the 2nd. Aircare MA1201 White colored new model. The water tray, on the bottom, has indentions to place 4 casters (wheels) on the bottom of the water tray. The water tray is made of such thin plastic that when the wheels are installed the caster bolt, cracks the plastic water tray and causes THE WATER TRAY TO LEAK ON THE FLOOR. I have had 3 of the older models (Almond colored) Aircare MA1201. They never leaked at the wheels and were built of a heavier quality plastic. Knowing this. on my newest purchase, I left the wheels off.

Had a couple weeks, so don't actually know about Value, Meets Expectations, or Energy Efficiency. I've use it on medium speed and it moves some moisture into the air. I fill up the 1.5 gal reservoir 2-3 times over a 24 hr period raising the humididty on the humidifier display from low/mid 40s to mid 50s. Bought one at Lowes Bldg supply and returned because this one online with free shipping was about $20 cheaper. Did not work out of box, but called help line and had to align strip that activates fan switch. They were very helpful.
