Allen Sports Bicycle Carrier Adaptor Bar, for Non-Conventional Bicycle Frames, Model 900B, Black

This worked great when traveling with my bike rack on the car. I have a cute Public Bike and this helped avoid scratches on the frame. Easy to use and very good quality.

We like a few things about this bike bar. First, it is the perfect length. It is lightweight. Its spring mechanism is convenient for storage, making it smaller when not in use. Overall, this product does exactly what it is intended for. It seems really easy to open and set up.

We were traveling with a girl's mountain bike and cruiser bike. While I could get them mounted to the bike rack, it wasn't easy and the angle blocked a lot of the rear window. These allowed for easier mounting and better view out the window. Our rack is a hitch mouth that hinges to allow for the back hatch to open and with these the bikes were able to pivot properly.

The only thing I wish it had plastic or some coverage on the pin to prevent it from scratching the bicycle paint

The bar seems to be well constructed and would be easy to use, except for the fact that the shaft by the handlebar on my Ebike barely squeezes into the hook end. Also I'm concerned about damaging the wiring which is in that area. I should have thought about that when doing my product research.

This product is used to form a top-tube on a bicycle so you can fit it on your car's bicycle carrier. So, if you have a girl's bicycle or a mountain bike or BMX bike that has a sloping top tube or a small top tube that makes it difficult (or impossible) to get the bike on a bicycle carrier, this is the device you need. It hooks onto the handlebar stem and the seat post to form a bar across the top of the bike. It is very easy to use - almost too easy. If you don't have some common sense, the directions might be a little confusing. This unit is identical to the cross-bars you can buy at bicycle shops for $35.00, so it is a bargain at half that price. MAKE SURE YOUR SEAT POST AND HANDLEBAR STEM ARE TIGHT AND SECURE TO THE FRAME. If the seat post or handlebar stem falls out of the bike then the bike will, of course, fall off of your bicycle carrier and that would not be good. Anyway, this is a good unit and worth the money if you are hauling girls bikes or other bikes with sloping top-tubes or weird frame geometry
