Kryptonite Resettable 12mm Combo Cable Bicycle Lock

This Kryptonite 6 foot long combination cable lock is very well constructed including the locking mechanism that contains the four digit combination that is changeable to any four numbers you might want to use. Just remember that to change the combination you need to remember what the last numbers were in order to reset to other numbers. Haven't gotten that far yet but you can register the combination with "kryptonite lock" and understand they will be able to give you the combination if you forget or did not write it down. Cable is very thick (12mm) and has a protective vinyl coating so as not to scratch your bike when stringing it through various areas. It seems stiff but it will stretch out to a true six feet and we plan on using it mostly on a bicycle rack on the back of our motorhome and there is plenty of cable to securely lock two bicycles to the rack. Very happy with this cable and would definitely recommend.

This cable/lock combo appears to me to be very reliable. The cable is very thick, nearly ½ inch (0.47 inch) for those that do not relate to the metric 12mm dimension. The stranded cable is enclosed in a thick plastic coating. The locking part is easily resettable using the directions included with the lock. I watched a youtube video about how to pick these types of locks. This one appears to me to not easily lend itself to that technique, which is a big plus. The locking portion of this lock is very substantial at about 1 1/8 inches in diameter. I also like the fact that this lock gives you another piece to attach to the bike seat post or frame to help keep the coiled lock securely attached to the bike while riding. Overall I will feel secure in using this lock on my bike.

Surprised at the heavy duty quality. Not your flimsy bike lock. Seems built to last. Has a good weight and materials are tough. But somehow compact enough to fit in your bike bag. Combination numbers slide in place easily. Thieves will always have new tricks but this seems tough enough that we’ll built and it will slow them down.

Let's face it, there is no 100% theft proof bike lock system in the world. This Kryptonite cable lok is about as close as you can get. At first, I was frustrated with the permanent curl that is set into the cable. I was not bright enough to realize that the curl is what makes the bicycle mounting clip functional. The clip mounts to the bike frame and provides a way to transport the cable lock very securely while riding your bike - even if you are off road following a rugged trail. The process of resetting the lock combination is simple enough that anyone can figure it out without being so simple that you might accidentally reset it without knowing it. The cable length is also long enough that you can secure your bike to a larger object like a tree or a telephone pole. We also use the cable to secure two of our kayaks to our small boat trailer. We've got too much invested in those boats to have them only secured by a nylon strap. Like I started with, there is no such thing as a 100% theft proof lock system, but this is as close as it gets. We definitely recommend this for those who need a cable lock.

I love this bike lock! It is solid and secure. I love having a four digit combination lock - no losing little keys! The cable stays coiled up so I leave it on my handlebars when riding. It slips on and off easily. It comes with a clip that you can attach it to the crossbar on your bike, but I always finds that kind of stuff to be bulky and I hit it getting on and off my bike. I don’t even like to carry a water bottle there, but that’s just my style. The clip is available for those who might like it. Slipping it over my handlebars works great for me! This cable is 6 feet long, which works really well for us because we travel with 2-4 bikes on the bake and it will weave through all of them as well as around the bike carrier and hitch. It also works great when we stop for lunch breaks and want to cable the bikes up against a tree. I would highly recommend this bike lock cable. No one is cutting through this! It’s a safe bet!

I bought this Kryptonite bike lock for a teenager to ride back and forth to an after school job in a shopping plaza. The cable is long enough to go thru both tires and the frame to deter thieves from trying to steal the wheels! The combo was easy to reset. Would buy again.

Kryptonite sets the standard in locks for wheeled things. This meets all expectation. Cable is thick so keep that in mind.

It's a good product but be aware it can be cut very easily unfortunately if someone wants to steal your bike. The next day I used this lock my bike was stolen:( I highly recommend getting the Disk/alarm products sold here on Walmart and locking your bicycle at a very visible area and purchasing the Kryptonite NY series

Ordered 2 and both were missing the mounting hardware. Several other reviewers have complained about the same issue, but Walmart obviously has not resolved the bait and switch.

I received the Kryptonite lock but without the support to hang the lock from the frame of the bike; I had to return the product. It is annoying to receive incomplete products and they make you waste time. They also did not offer to send me the missing piece.
