This product is awesome. I routed the hose in a way to irrigate my flower beds. Now no more wasted water from gutter run off.
I have a down spout right by my front door but no room for an extension to send the water away This is the perfect solution.as I was able to send it off at an angle It seems heavy and very well made
I was looking for a catch basin with an outlet closer to the top/surface of the basin instead of one that drains at or near the bottom of a standard 9" or 12" model that you'd find in a home improvement store. I needed the higher outlet in order to connect with a D channel drain grate that runs alongside our back patio. I like this catch basin as it has a good size footprint (i.e.: 1 sqft) to catch runoffs from around the patio, and the outlet is fairly close to the top/surface. My only wish was that the outlet could have been bigger. At only 2" in diameter, it's relatively small compared to the 4" diameter pipe inlet to the drain channel. I had a hard time finding adapters and reducers that would fit both ends. Also, the 2" outlet is not large enough to accommodate standard 2" OD PVC or ABS pipes and fittings. I had to enlarge the hole by about an 1/8th of an inch around its circumference (about 3/16" gain in total diameter) in order to insert a 2" PVC fitting. After many tries, I was able to use a combination of PVC fitting, ABS pipe and a rubber DWV reducer adapter to connect with the drain channel. In the end, I was able to make it work. It also looks nice with its decorative grate and drains well.
Appears to be very sturdy, solidly made. I haven't installed it yet to fully determine fit %26 value.
Drain works as advertised. Looks very appealing, more than a drain line attached to your downspout. Very easy to trench(clay like soil). Would be easy for someone in solid/rocky soil to trench only the width of pickaxe since the line is only a couple inches diameter. Looks and feels very tuff but pressure in the center of the grate would surely break it. Could be better but for the price and quality I don’t think you can find anything better.
This item had some poor reviews. I always read those first. I had removed the 2 items from my cart and then took the risk to try one. I'm pleased. It looks nice and seems like it will do the trick. I may get the other one.
Larger than I thought. Plus the hose isnt long enough
Very cheaply made and easily damaged. Not a quality item. I made a mistake ordering this item. Our dog accidently stepped on the drain cover when it was installed any fractured not only the top but also the drain catch basin itself. Very cheaply made, I cannot recommend this drain for any type of usage around a home.
The item was seemed to be well-made, generally. But, bizarrely, the drain hose did not fit into the drain pan. A serious design flaw, making the product unusable.
This was not practical for use with my downspouts. The were too small and the tube wasn't long enough. I honestly think if the basin was bigger I would have sprung for longer tubes.
