Quality made product, It is pretty big and great for many uses. It could be used for batter or even gravy to make it easier to pour. It is thick glass so shouldn't easily break. It is easy to read the measurements provided on the side. It is easy to clean. I recommend to others.
We use these measuring glasses daily here in our kitchen. They're so durable and long lasting. They last forever! They're oven safe as well which comes in handy. One of my favorite measuring cups. I love using this for my bigger batches. Its also helpful when I need a container to measure and mix in.
First let me just mention how well this was packed for shipping - wrapped numerous times with 2 different kinds of bubble wrap. I love this bowl! It's thick glass, has a handle and a pour spout more like a huge measuring cup than a simple mixing bowl. It hold 1/2 gallon - 2 quarts - 8 cups which is clearly indicated on the side. I'm sure I'll get plenty of use out of it!
Received this yesterday and haven’t had a chance to use it yet but plan on making a big batter of pancakes for the family this weekend. As usual with Anchor Hocking the quality is unbeatable. I am sure I will find many uses for this item as the capacity is perfect. I’m sure this will be used numerous times weekly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
I've never owned a hocking bowl before but I was happy with this one. I like the look, feel and design of it. It's good quality, thick glass, and nice design. I used it to make pancake mix (see photos). It was easy to clean and store away. I look forward to using this for other recipes. I like the pour spout which I'm not use to with other mixing bowls. I love it!
This anchor Hocking 2 quart glass container is fantastic!! You never know if liquid will pour out of glass containers well, but this one hit the mark. I tested it multiple times with water, both pouring quickly and pouring slowly and even every time I stopped there wasn't drips. In searching for a glass to court container with a handle, this was the most valuable thing for me. It's a completely added bonus that it's tempered glass. You can tell the quality by the slightly blue hue. I love the idea of being able to bake with it, put it in the microwave as long as I need to, it's totally dishwasher safe, and I can even put it in the oven! Perhaps it goes without saying but you can stash it in the freezer. This variety of uses makes it an essential kitchen edition. I haven't yet had to use it in any of these ways. However, because of the quality of the tempered glass I'm sure it will not encounter any issues. The measurements are placed on the outside of each side with significant raised lettering that is easy to read. One side shows both milliliters and liters while the other side shows cups and quarts. From spout to handle it measures a length of 10 and 1/2 in with the base sitting just 4 and 1/4 inches. The diameter and the other direction is 7 and 1/2 in. It is nearly 6 in. The handle is comfortable and makes it easy to pour. I like the shape of the bowl as there's a lot of weight in the bottom so as to prevent tipping. I would spend $30 on this all day long! I will definitely look for other sizes of the same brand. It's made in the United States so I have confidence in the quality. Because of how the handle is placed, you can't stack it in something else, but other things could easily be stacked in it in order to officially store it. There is a slight bubbly imperfection on the surface near the spout so that it's not a smooth finish. I don't think this will be an issue in any way that I want to use it and because it pours so well it doesn't bother me at all. Did I mention how amazingly it pours? Well, it pours fantastically!!
I have the ubiquitous three-set stainless mixing bowl set that I’ve used for years. Always wished that I’d had a pour spout. Enter, Anchor Hocking 2 Quart Glass Batter Bowl. Besides that, it’s clear and oven safe (which I can’t really say for my stainless bowls… apparently they like to crack along the rim). The cup graduations are fairly accurate, especially when you get past the bottom of the bowl. Used mine to help pour a batch of homemade marinade into some canning jars. I poured what was basically boiling-temp marinade into these bowls, after running a little hot water into them first to preheat, and they held up great. I was more afraid of my jars cracking than the batter bowl. Overall, a welcome addition to any kitchen. I’ll probably use it more than my stainless mixing bowls.
It does what it's supposed to. I used it to make waffle batter. I like that it has a pour spout and handle which makes it really easy to pour the batter directly into the waffle iron. It has 8oz, 1 pint, and quart measurements on one side and MLs on the other side. It's also dishwasher safe and you can put it in the oven or microwave. It's pretty heavy which also makes it really solid.
I like Anchor Hocking glassware, I've owned a few sets throughout the years. I was excited to receive this mixing bowl recently! The size is great for cooking for my large family. It holds 8 cups! The glass feels sturdy enough. The only downside is the handle feels sort of flimsy and i am hoping it holds up.
It's a sturdy, well-made mixing bowl. It is made from the sturdy Anchor Hocking glass and its microwave and dishwasher safe. I like that it offers the measurements on the side for adding your baking ingredients. The only downside is that the mouth of the bowl is a bit narrow and the bowl is fairly deep, so I found it hard to mix batter in the bowl.
