I'm not a fish expert, but I wish I was, but this has been a good amount of a roll for my one goldfish. I can't give advice because I'm not a fish expert and I care about my fish in any fish so much any animal so much. So please be responsible and educate yourself and never stop educating yourself but glad I got this amount for this price.
I love this filter pad! It's stuffed in my tiny 3 gallon internal filter along with the polishing pad from them and the carbon granules. I've jam packed my little filter with all three and I've still got beautiful water flow! I put the filter first at the bottom where water enters, followed by the polishing pad, the carbon granules, and then finally my bio media on top just as they show in their pictures. It's possible even in a little tiny filter! My tank is now far more stable filtration wise, and this setup is far better than the original cartridges it comes with! Thank y'all! You've got a customer for life!
It really helps me keep my water clean!! You can trim it to whatever size you need!
bulit better than most. you have to cut it but it will last a long time.
I like that the quality is overall very good. This solved my problem of not knowing what size filter to order. Works great!
It is a nice option for filter boxes that are large enough for such a product. Remember to cut it to fit large pore side 1st with the smaller filter side facing out or up depending on water flow, to allow water to exit out of the filter. This utlizes the larger pore side for big waste and the smaller pore side to then remove the smaller items. Toss in a 50 micron polishing pad to then place behind this filter pad and water will look great. I started using this product along with the polish pad and purigen last week. My tank was murky and cloudy prior to that. My picks have a stump close up taken last week with a Pearlscale Chichlid in the pic. The others are one week later keep in mind the improvement is with mopani drift wood having also just been added to the tank last week.
great works - clean water
This was a good value purchase. It was a little aggravating to try to cut it to size for my 20 gal tanks filter, but it gave me lots of replacement filters. The scrap pieces I use to clean the tank glass on the inside. It isn't quite as good as a higher priced brand name but it works just fine and, when you consider the savings, even if you change it out a little more often, it's not a huge expense.
works good
Product is garbage and destructive to aquariums. This created a major mess. It deposited a lot of dirty, cotton substance all over the tank floor. This substance doesn't even get removed with the filter or vacuum. Never again...
