I grabbed two Arlo Essential Outdoor Cameras from Walmart for just $29 each — one for my front yard and one for the backyard — and I'm genuinely impressed! Installation was super easy and setup took just minutes. Even though I'm a hardcore Apple user and heavily invested in the HomeKit ecosystem, I found Apple's options too limited and way overpriced. While these Arlo cameras don't support HomeKit, I decided to try the Arlo app — and honestly, it works flawlessly. The app is smooth, notifications are quick, and the video quality is clear day and night. For the price, these cameras are a no-brainer. Highly recommended, especially if you want solid performance without the Apple price tag.
I bought them on clearance. They are amazing. Great range and you don't have to purchase a subscription for them to work. You can share them with the people that live in the house or friends so they can monitor your house or whatever you put them on in real time and video.
Replacement for an older Arlo camera that went out. Excellent camera great value. The older camera that was replaced was more than 5 years old. I have several Arlo cameras around my home for security. Rechargeable, last about month and a half before recharge excellent quality clear pics and video.
mounting hardware was extremely easy to install. not too sure about a panic button feature, but it does have an option when it sends you notifications to either sound a siren from the camera or call emergency services to ensure you and your loved ones can stay amongst the living. Overall great buy and even better price
There are quite a few reasons why I love this product. The direct to Wi-Fi setup was simple, and the phone notifications keep me updated. The HD footage is clear, and the rechargeable battery lasts long. Plus, it even detected a wasp flying by, which was impressive. Overall, very satisfied with this camera.
It almost works too good, we have a lot of traffic on our street, i get all of them on camera. it works great though if someone walks up the porch, i really like it, and if i get tired of the notification i just mute, easy breezy the price was great for all it does. thank you for asking!
I waited to post this review having it for a while. It is intended for us to use in the dog kennel outside when the project is complete but I have used it around the house for now. Unless you pay the subscription there is not a whole lot to be done with it. I just use it to keep an eye on the dogs in almost real time. There is a little bit of delay but not much. This thing has been dropped a couple times and still going strong. The Arlo app is a little on the buggy/slow side but overall if you want cheap but works this is a great camera to go for. P.S it does have night vision and a spot light (without having to pay the sub!)
⭐️⭐️⭐️Great picture quality especially for the cost. Easy to set up %26 install. The only slightly negative thing I have to say about it is about the mount. I wish it was able to tilt or turn slightly on the mount to be able to angle it a little bit differently. But it's also possible I didn't know exactly how to do that if it's capable as is %26 also I'm sure you can get a mount that can do that...but I would definitely recommend this camera %26 buy it again. 👍👍👍
I would have rated it a 5 star but the subscription service is expensive. You can operate without and it is great but there are other cameras out there that if you choose, the subscriptions are much lower price. The camera operates great, easy to install and set up. Good quality
there's only a few things that I don't like about it. one is the weather seems to affect the connection. not really meant for colder areas. two is the battery life. its charge seems to vary from a few hours to several hours when it's fully charged. and three is it's kinda a pain to keep taking it down to charge.
