I've used this to cook rice and to steam vegetables and it worked perfectly. I haven't used the slow cooker feature yet but I'm confident it will work well. I was leaning towards getting the smaller model before I bought this, but from reading reviews , I decided to buy the 20 cup version instead of the smaller one and I'm glad I did. It works just as well for small quantities as large.
I will say as of right now I have only used this to cook white rice. It cooks well and easy to clean...buy it you will not regret it. Couple of things though to keep in mind: 1. Top is not clear so in order to see inside you will have to open it. 2. It is a pretty big size cooker, so make space somewhere for it. I say this because I had an old black and decker and this takes up more space.
I absolutely love this product! Since my son has a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and is a certified personal trainer, he recommended I get a rice cooker. All the research and affordability that I wanted I found in this cooker. My son only allows me to eat brown rice and all I do is cut up all different veggies and put it in the top steamer tray. I than wash the brown rice so it doesn't get burned and than add the water and rice to the bottom pot. Push the on button and than the brown rice button and it cooks itself perfectly! As soon as I smell the veggies cooking, I prepare a few skinless chicken breast in a frying pan with water and seasoning. Already started loosing weight and just love my little, "Cooker."
I previously had a single - button Aroma rice cooker, which served me well for several years until a dog took off with the inner cooking pot. I decided to buy a fuzzy logic cooker as its replacement based on several recommendations from around the Web. It's settled on this one given the large capacity, steam basket, and price point at almost a third of most fuzzy - logic cookers. I've used it several times now for batches between 2 and 10 cups, and every one has come out perfect. I can't imagine how it could be improved to justify the price of its competitors.
Seldom have I found a product that works as well as this one: large capacity, easy to use (even for me and I am not tech savvy), easy to clean, and excellent results both steaming veggies and cooking rice. The only slight drawback would be if you have a tiny kitchen; you can't get large capacity and compactness in the same product.
It cooks the perfect rice! At the same time you can steam your veggies. We used it as a crock pot to cook chicken to shred for quesadillas. It has a little pocket so that when you open the lid the steam runs down into the cup and doesn’t make a mess. It is truly amazing!!!!! Can’t recommend this cooker enough!
It's way bigger than what I need. Holds 20 cups but I only make 2 to 4 cups at a time. The extra size means I don't get any more boil over spills like I had with smaller models. This one has a very small footprint for it's capacity so it fits well on my counter. This is a keeper, easy to use, goof proof. I highly recommend it.
This is a great rice cooker. The rice comes out perfect every time and doesn't stick at all. I only gave it 4 stars because, although it has a slow cooker mode, that mode doesn't work as well. It boils the food instead of cooking it more gently. That's ok--it's still a keeper.
I'm Thai but ironically I'm horrible at making rice, both in a rice cooker and especially on the stove. The 2 times that I have cooked rice in the aroma 20 cup fuzzy have been great! Rice came out perfect so I'm very happy with it so far. I also made japanese curry and sukiyaki with it, didn't get as hot as I would like but then the primary function is a rice cooker. Recommended!
Defective after 5th/6th use, causes electrical surges, and completely stops working. Only use to cook rice, the primary purpose. Can't return since Walmart made the window to return very short. Disappointed!!!!
