Cooks better than I expected. No soggy skin, which was my main concern. I cooked a massive turkey first, worked great. It was so helpful to free up oven space during Thanksgiving. Sometimes I use it to cook two chickens at once. They come out just like rotisserie and cook faster than the crock pot and even the oven.
We originally bought this roaster to cook an Easter ham, and it turned out great—it cooked evenly and stayed nice and juicy without much effort. Since then, we've used it for a turkey, a whole chicken, and even pulled pork, and it has performed excellent every time. The large 22-quart size is perfect for bigger cuts of meat, and the domed lid really helps keep the heat circulating well. The self-basting feature is a huge plus because it keeps everything moist without constantly checking on it. The temperature control is easy to use, and it heats up quickly. Cleanup is simple thanks to the non-stick enamel pan, and the rack makes lifting out heavy meats safe and easy. Overall, this roaster is versatile, reliable, and a great addition to the kitchen—especially for holidays or large meals. Would definitely recommend!
We got this for a party we were having to make a brisket. It turned out so well and was a hit . The roaster is worth the money and very easy to use. Will be using again for many more things .
14lb defrosted Turkey cooked in 2hrs and tasted delicious. 450 for 30 minutes then turned down to 325 for the remaining 90 minutes. Don't go by the cooking time recommendations, you'll 100% overcook your Turkey! I learned this the hard way. Highly recommend this product.
Yes this cooker saved my holidays I thank GOD for it .I ordered at last minute and was on time.It heats very well it kept turkey and ham warm. The cornbeef was keep warm . I even made bef stew it was fantastic. My next round will be 4 meat Gumbo next meal
Made a 15 lb turkey and kept the oven free for other items. Worked great - so tender. Came in handy for the holidays when my oven broke the day after thanksgiving and it was over a month to repair. Also cooked a bone in chicken breast the same day. Very happy with purchase. It's huge - now to find a place to store it.
Excellent product! I'll never cook a turkey in the oven again. Turkey was cooked to perfection and came out crispy on the outside and very tender and moist on the inside with the self basting feature. I would highly recommend this roaster for the novice or professional.
This 22 quart roaster is huge! I cooked two very large hens and many pounds of chopped vegetables for 10 people and it was only about 1/2 full. I honestly think it may hold two turkeys! SO easy to use. Note: the cord is not reasonably long. Could use another foot to make it work well on an island or most places on my counter top. . Pretty light considering its size. You must use a pot holder on the cover handle as it gets pretty hot. Will be a great appliance to have for the holidays to give me my oven space back! Now, to figure out where to store something so large…
Walmart was out of stock. So... they wanted to substitute the 22Qt model with a 7Qt model. If I wanted a 7QT I would have ordered it. Total waste of time, and the Credit card is on hold for 10 days while they adjust the approvals. Will no longer order online from Walmart.
First, it doesn't have a temp light. You have no idea what the temp is. Second, it takes much longer to cook than any of these I have owned. Without the light, it's pretty difficult to determine if it's heating properly. And third, I have had nothing but trouble with these roasters for several years. I have one I keep as a backup that's 14 year sold. I have had no less than 4 brands in the last 7 years and they have all been bad. And Oester (spelling), I had one I used 4 times and the thermostat went out. I jumped through the hoops, took pics, got a new one from them. After 3 uses the thermostat went out of it. It went to the garbage and I will never own another of their product. My backup unit I have is a Nesco, bought at Sears in 2007. Since then I have had 3 of their roasters and they are junk just like the rest. I think I am going to just give up and use the oven.
