Good design and works well.

I bought two of these for my Kayak and I was happy when they arrived. The base plate mounts easily on a flat surface, and rises only a quarter inch. The holder is removable from the base plate. The holder has locking up/down and left/right adjustments and locks your pole in place so you don't drop it in the water. The only down side is that short handled poles like ultralights may not reach the rear loop. I corrected that with a cable tie. Great product

Had one already. Looking to put another on other side of boat. Could not get base and holder apart without using an insert and a hammer. Had to file the inside on the mount and sand the bottom of the holder post to get the parts to work properly. Worked fine after that and is a good value. The price from Walmart was better than other sites.

Nice product, easy installation.you will need your own screws though.very durable

This rod holder came with my kayak. It was really nice till I flipped my kayak in the river.... if you've ever kayaked you would know this could happen a lot depending on the river... the rod holder doesn't lock into place and stay there very well, my pole was not in the holder when I flipped it and it still fell out... but on a good note its not to expensive so I will be buying a new one

this is a heavy duty rod holder. Should last a long time.

I got this rodholder because I wanted a flush mount holder that could be neatly covered when not in use. It does that great. The problem was that the fitting between the two pieces was so tight that adjusting the direction was very difficult , as was sliding the holder in and out of the base. (this was not an issue with other rod holders I have used) I solved this by filing the pieces so that there was a better fit, and the pieces easily adjust and can easily be put in and out.

The bracket is very brittle. 2 corners broke while gently hand tightening it down the the kayak. Also this holder is massive, way too big for a spinning rod. I should have looked at the dimensions and not assumed the size.
