Attwood Quick Disconnect Swivel Seat Mount 7"

I'm impressed. A real neat idea to make a small boat owner happy. Easily remove your cushy fishing seat so you can store your boat outside or even turn upside down. The base mounts easily to the bench style seat of a row boat with 4 bolts (not included). The swivel of the seat slides and clicks into place. Be sure to order the same size of swivel and base 6 1\4 inch or 7 inch.

This is a very innovative idea. It makes installing a new boat seat a breeze. Just mount the swivel to the boat seat .... mount this to the boat ..... then just slide the seat into this release. It is that simple. It holds the seat firmly in place yet lets you take the seat out easily for storage out-of-the-weather.

Typical Attwood quality! Steel/Composite construction. Should last years. Tight fit so no slop. There is NO swivel on this, so you would have to provide one if needed. That's another $20 but worth the price. Attwood offers the swivel thru Walmart. Good stuff!

These are the cats meow in situations where you want to remove a seat. Whether in a boat or whatever. Caution: manufacturers such as Attwood have two widths of swivel bases, a 6.25" and a 7". Make sure you use the right size swivel and quick release base. No, the 6.25 will not work in the 7" base. Get the right size. Determine by simply measuring your existing swivel seat base. But they are a great product. I've tried other manufacturers quick release but not happy with quality. Stick with Attwood on these.

This was only my second purchase from Walmart, the first one was completely wrong. I ordered a 3 degree tilted swivel and received a stern light pole. I took a chance and they got the second one right. The quick disconnect did work as it was supposed to. The product is a good one but Attwood makes it confusing. I already had a 6 1/4" seat mount and needed the 3 degree tilted seat swivel. I found out that even if Walmart had sent the seat swivel I ordered it would have been in a 7" size. Attwood makes two sizes 6 1/4 and 7" seat mounts but only makes the 3 degree tilt in the 7". Luckily the two seat mounts have the same mounting hole pattern which made the switch very easy. Why you would make 2 seat mounts the same size in dimension and only offer the tilted one only in the larger size is beyond me. So if you need a way to mount a seat to your boat I would recommend this product but you might as well buy the 7" seat mount that way you would have a choice of a 0 degree (no tilt) or a 3 degree (tilted) seat swivel.

Easy to attach to swivel. Not as tight as I would like. When slid in, seat is a little sloppy. It's secure but sloppy. Very well built! Heavy steel.

I tried using this with the 7" Garelick stainless steel swivel, and a 7" SeaSense stainless swivel, and neither of them fit properly in this mount. The height of the slot was too low for the Garelick and it wouldn't even go in. The SeaSense swivel could slide in all the way, but the lip that locks the swivel in is about 1/16" too long and wasn't able to engage the swivel to lock it in. What a joke. This thing is NOT universal.

Good concept, but installation for me was difficult, and the seat will not disconnect. It's fits very tight and, once in place, is jammed. I even added spacers (washers) under the bolts, but still there was too little space between the surfaces to allow the seat base to slide in and out. Maybe that's why this item has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
