I was hesitant to try an OTC hearing aid, but this one exceeded my expectations. It's affordable and has helped me hear conversations more clearly. The device is discreet and comfortable, making it easy to wear for extended periods. Highly recommend!
I have tried several different kinds of inner ear and behind the ear, hearing aids. This one has been the best that I've tried so far. Sound clarity is good, volume button is essential for comfort, and it fits my female ear very comfortably. I can wear it all day if needed. Recharges quickly. I would buy again.
My family has warned me multiple times about purchasing hearing aids online. When I saw the 45 day money back guarantee I thought I would give Audien a chance. Boy did I make the right choice, I have worn them every day since I received them. Thank you for improving my hearing.
Let me start out by stating: I'm giving the Atom One hearing aids a five (5) star rating as a $99 pair of hearing aid. These will not outperform $4,000 hearing aids. That said the Atom Ones allow me to hear and understand conversations better in noisy rooms like Restaurants and lobbies. This is precisely the area that I need help. Also with the hearing aids I am able to listen to the TV at volume levels below what my wife uses and at a significantly lower volume than without them. It gives me peace of mind knowing the TV volume level is not keeping my wife and dog awake. The Atom One is a simple, easy to use hearing aid. The sound quality of the Atom One was the clearest of the three OTC hearing aids I was able to test. The Atom One has 5 volume levels and 3 hearing modes so it is simple to operate. The documentation that comes with the Atom One is concise and easy to digest. Also Audien has step by step tutorial videos and 7 day a week support. One thing that stood out was the battery life, while I didn't track the exact time, I believe I used the Atom Ones over the course of 3 days before I plugged in the case to charge them. One big pro for these $99 dollar hearing aids is replaceable ear wax guards. Other OTC hearing aids, some for hundreds of dollars more, don't have replaceable wax guards; so if the hearing aid receiver sound path becomes filled with wax or moisture, hearing clarity is reduced, possibly to the point of not properly working at all. With replaceable guards this concern is all but eliminated. One minor (for me) issue with the Atom One was with the Ear Domes. The largest dome was not large enough to prevent feedback/whistling in my left ear, right ear was fine. I was able to overcome this by using an ear dome from one of my audio ear buds. For me this wasn't even a ¼ of a star demerit, so I kept the rating at five. An aside, I'm exploring hearing aids for the first time, I'm a seventy year old male with mild hearing loss, mainly in the high frequency ranges. As a first time user of hearing aids, I had to break-in my brain and ears to adjust to the new levels of sound. It's like my brain had to turn down the volume of my ears (particularly in the upper frequencies). I'm not sure of the science for this but this seems to be a common issue when adjusting to hearing aids. So I found out it did take time for me to become comfortable using hearing aids. I keep them in while working alone in my office with little or no conversation, just typical background sounds just to allow my brain to adjust to the new levels of sounds. One thing I wasn't expecting; I have a minor tinnitus issue. It's mild and mostly I don't even notice it. Over the time of training my brain to use hearing aids, I notice the tinnitus seemed to dimmish. Not only when wearing the aids but also for much of the remainder of day. Again, the five (5) stars are for a $99 dollar pair of Atom One hearing aids. For the price I believe the Atom Ones deliver.
when i wore the hearding aids for a few days one of the ear bugs stop working... but i loved their performance so much until i'm ordering the same brand since i've returned these...Hoping the next pair will last for awhile and not just a few days or week. I'm giving it four stars cause one of the ear bugs malfunction
OMG! These are good in a pinch but unless you want to deal constantly trying to adjust because of the whistling, then do not purchase. I had to do something quickly, and it certainly helps since struggling to hear after showering in my other ones were ruined, was worse than the whistling for a little while.
One month to the day one of the hearing aids stopped working, I contacted the company via email. We excharge the hearing aides, mail back and forth over twenty times, and each time the only thing I got was the run around. First they wanted to hook me up with their "Hearing specialist team", the next email they told me to clean the wax guard, the following email they to charge the hearing aids, the next email they asked to to tell them where I purchased the hearing aids , the date purchased, the name of the product, the purchase number and the name of person who purchased them. One of the last emails I received, they wanted to hook me up with the "Hearing specialist team" AGAIN, and they said that they couldn't do any more for me through emails, Long story short, I believe they were just killing time until the warranty ran out. Same your money and find another brand.
Had this device before, worked well for about 9 months then they just quit working. So I switched to something else didn't work out, so I went back and I had these for maybe 2 weeks and they quit working again! I've tried everything from cleaning to chartering to getting ahold of support which was a wasted 45 mins. Mostly on hold!
Please listen to the other reviews like I did not, these hearing aids are the worst and you will regret getting them. There is nothing positive I can say about them. They are uncomfortable, the feedback whistle is almost disrespectful(if you don't have hearing loss now, you certainly will after putting these in a couple times), the sound quality is nonexistent, everything sounds like you are listening through a tin can, how these passed any level of QC is beyond me. Whoever designed these has never put an earbud in before much less a hearing aid. They auto power on out of the case and as you know when you get close to the mic it emits that godawful whistle - so grin and bear it while you try to quickly jam these “universal fit” buds into your ears and with every attempt the screech gets louder because you will undoubly press the volume up button because of its location. Just don't do it, there are plenty of OTC hearing aids that actually do work. I was suckered in by the low price but they are trash and I'm out $100 so it saved me nothing.
I was very disappointed with these hearing aids. Either they didn't charge or died after a few hours. Then one died completely. It was frustrating. But Walmart took them back-no questions asked. I was very happy about that. They didn't give me any trouble and they were very polite. Thank you Walmart. I really appreciate that you did that without any problems. You made it easy. Thank you!
