In an age where everything is digital, this is a must-have, especially for a smart home. I recently purchased a home with my fiance, and I have had a history of going keyless, starting from my vehicle. A home that you can enter without a key? That is exactly what this product does! Packaging was nice and simple, and there were instructions via a QR code, or physically. I went and setup through the app, which directed what to do, from installing the smart lock, to installing the door sense add-on. After installing, setup was quick, well, if your doors are properly closing (weather seals). We purchased 3 of these locks, and have them installed for all of our exterior doors. 2 of the 3 locks were easy, but we had some issues with the 3rd, as the door was not shutting and sitting properly to lock. We fixed the issue, and then the lock was working properly. Now, we have the ability to arrive home, and the doors automatically unlock, and then, same with locking when we leave the neighborhood. Another benefit is that if you forget to lock the door when you get home, it will auto lock if set after X amount of time. One issue I experienced, unfortunately, is that if you are going for a walk and have auto lock on, it will lock the doors, but not auto unlock when you get back, so you would have to go back into the app to unlock, or you can use a key if you really wanted to... Besides this, with wifi active on the device, expect 2 months of battery life before having the swap batteries on each device. This really depends if you set wifi on the device, or if you choose to solely use bluetooth, and how often you unlock/lock the door remotely. Overall, going keyless for the home is the best thing to ever happen for our home. Would recommend getting these for your home.
haven’t installed it but i am familiar with the brand packaging was good and product appears to be in good order
August Smart Lock is the best I've come across. I have three of them, making this one my fourth. The price for this version is the least expensive I've seen.
Get price and easy to assemble.
Super easy to install and use !
i have 3 of these locks. love them. my doors unlock as soon as i pull in the drive. One less step to get in the house with an arm full of groceries. These locks will tell you when they are unlocked and will tell you who unlocked them. they are compatible with your smart speakers
I have owned many of these devices. They work great and have simplified my life with all my family who come to visit. Perfect when it comes to contractors as well. They begin to wear out at around 4 years. So ust expect to need to need to replace it every 4 years or so
Good lock and works well but battery life is ridiculously short even when not using the open/close function often. Apparently this is a known problem for years and the company does not address it assuming they can. Surprised the rating received is as good as shown but in my view they are better alternatives than this lock
The product was good but your service was horrible. You promised and charged me for expedited service then shipped ground and when I called for help you made it seem like everything was my fault and you bounced me round and round. And you still have not returned the expedited cost that you charged me for. Really bad I would not recommend you to my worst enemy.
I had a Pro lock that finally kicked the bucket after 5 years. This new lock I had to get as a replacement is sun-par. The motor sounds like it’s already going to give out. The auto-unlock feature with this lock works 20% of the time; and the 80% that it doesn’t, my door randomly unlocks itself 5-10 minutes after already being home, pretty unsafe if you ask me.
