In an age where everything is digital, this is a must-have, especially for a smart home. I recently purchased a home with my fiance, and I have had a history of going keyless, starting from my vehicle. A home that you can enter without a key? That is exactly what this product does! Packaging was nice and simple, and there were instructions via a QR code, or physically. I went and setup through the app, which directed what to do, from installing the smart lock, to installing the door sense add-on. After installing, setup was quick, well, if your doors are properly closing (weather seals). We purchased 3 of these locks, and have them installed for all of our exterior doors. 2 of the 3 locks were easy, but we had some issues with the 3rd, as the door was not shutting and sitting properly to lock. We fixed the issue, and then the lock was working properly. Now, we have the ability to arrive home, and the doors automatically unlock, and then, same with locking when we leave the neighborhood. Another benefit is that if you forget to lock the door when you get home, it will auto lock if set after X amount of time. One issue I experienced, unfortunately, is that if you are going for a walk and have auto lock on, it will lock the doors, but not auto unlock when you get back, so you would have to go back into the app to unlock, or you can use a key if you really wanted to... Besides this, with wifi active on the device, expect 2 months of battery life before having the swap batteries on each device. This really depends if you set wifi on the device, or if you choose to solely use bluetooth, and how often you unlock/lock the door remotely. Overall, going keyless for the home is the best thing to ever happen for our home. Would recommend getting these for your home.
We have had August locks on all of our houses. It is great for us, our kids, random maintenance or housekeeping staff. You can create and give temporary codes. See when people come and go. It is also great if you have an AirBnB. You can give codes and also lock or unlock the door feom wherever you are. Would recommend August Locks to anyone. Another great feature is it is keyless and keypadless. Know one even knows you have one!
I've had the lock installed for close to two years, and it works very well, and integrated flawlessly with Alexa for voice commands and routines. My favourite feature is the auto-unlock. The lock opens when I'm walking up to the door. I don't use the auto-lock feature, however it is available. The lock installs on the inside of the door, and is 'renter friendly'. I needed only a screwdriver and an extra pair of hands. I purchased rechargeable batteries, and the app alerts when batteries need to be changed. My lock is on the exterior door of an unheated entryway, in Canada, and rhe lock worked well for the past two winters, (with more frequent battery changes). I have given custom entry permission to family and a pet sitter. The pet sitter is scheduled to be allowed entry on certain dates during certain times. My son is always allowed entry.
Very reliable, durable %26 very easy to install. Had one on another door working good for over three years
haven’t installed it but i am familiar with the brand packaging was good and product appears to be in good order
I've had this lock for over two months. It works so great for letting in guests, housekeepers and friends in without being home.
August Smart Lock is the best I've come across. I have three of them, making this one my fourth. The price for this version is the least expensive I've seen.
Get price and easy to assemble.
Super easy to install and use !
These things are amazing. It's having keyless entry without the keypad. I can unlock remotely from anywhere and can see all activity. I have them on all my properties and my renters love them!
