Works better than expected. would definitely recommend.
Shreds CD's, Cards, and thick papers. I just purchased & caught it on sale 1/2 off :) Shreds Credit Cards, & CD's with ease, fiarly quitely and with little maintanence. Havent tested up to 12 pages but I have thrown whole envelopes in & no worries. We will see if it stands the test of time & wear.
It actually shreds as many pages as advertised at a reasonable speed as well as CDs. Excellent product.
Love this shredder it is a good size and doesn't take up to much space. love that it shreds CD and credit cards.
Being a private investigator, my business is confidential documents. I am glad I got one of these, it works wonders, and everything stays confidential.
Quieter than my previous Aurora shedder. The wastebasket pulls from the side, not the end like my previous one. I would prefer that the basket pull out the end as that arrangment creates less mess if the basket is full. Overall, the product is very good.
won't shred as many sheets as advertized
I picked this up at the store, got it home, got it all together and turned it on to use. A red light came on, meaning door was open. Could not get light to go off. Green light never did come on. So, I had to take it all apart and pack it back in the box to take it back to the store. Wasted time and gas running to the store. Would never again order office equipment without seeing it from Walmart's .
The Aurora GB 12-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder is a piece of junk. It's poorly designed and poorly manufactured. The back of the basket I received looked like it had been partially pulled away from the basket at the top and stuck out far enough that it pushed the basket forward enough that the basket position detector indicates the basket isn't closed and the motor won't engage. The only way to use it is to tape the basket in place. I also wasn't expecting the shreds to be as big as they are. For me, It's still useable for CDs, DVD's and Credit Cards but that's about all. I've already ordered a new shredder that makes P-5 shreds.
This shredder was returned to Walmart after the first usage. As always, the return was handled efficiently by Walmart. The issue with the shredder was the construction quality of the basket. The actual shredding was actually pretty good. It never jammed and produced what I consider very secure shredding. 1) the basket is made of thin plastic. It is not very sturdy and the flexing caused a bit of concern when emptying and then replacing. It is a front pull-out basket that fits in the base. Neither was thick enough to prevent flexing. 2) the cutter head had a loose part that rattled around. This did not seem to cause a problem in use but it may have caused a problem later. 3) the cutter is activated by a small plastic arm extending out in the basket. When removed from the manufacturers packaging, this arm was in the bottom of the basket. The arm was installed wth screws but came off the second time the basket was removed. It was apparantly lost in the shredded paper and could not be found. The shredder no longer worked. 4) the shredder comes with wheels. This is a nice feature but the wheels were dificult to install. The wheel post did not fit smoothly into the hole provided. It took a fair amount of force to get the wheels in place. I was concerned the plastic would crack. Once in, the wheels will not come back out.
