gave as a gift. they oyster mushrooms are growing very well and be able to eat soon. it was easy to use. I think you will like it too!

package is as big as the mini of this brand. don't waist your money. buy the smaller one. only difference is the size of the box which doesn't yield any more than the mini

It already had mushrooms growing out of the package once we opened the box no hole in the package or anything. I mean I guess it's a good thing but kinda scared to eat them now because of it coming to me this way anyone else seen the same. I'll probably let them grow but throw them away sadly!

Gosh, I hated giving this a low review because I've used their mushroom kits in the past with zero issues. The kit I received this time was not on par with the quality they usually provide. I had grown them before so easy peasy right? Nope, for some odd reason mine never pinned and the mycelium ended up turning a black color for some odd reason. So needless to say we threw this one out. The company will send you another kit free of charge if you do run into issues with their kits. I was just too lazy to take the time to send them a message requesting another one be sent to me. It seems like a bit of a hassle because it's still their decision at the end of the day whether they will send you another one or not. It is definitely not as automatic as they make it seem. Super responsive and courteous customer support for sure though (I had to contact them in regard to another kit I had purchased). Perfect kit for a beginner! The company donates a kit to a school/program of your choice if you send a photo of your growing mushrooms to them. Which I know some people would say that's nothing, but in my opinion it's still something positive and they're still finding a way to give back even in this day and age when everything seems so expensive and many people have the whole me,me,me,me attitude. I'll support a company such as these guys any day even if I did receive a dud out of the multiple times I've purchased a growing kit from them.

So far this product is not meeting expectations. It started out okay. Mushrooms began to grow. They did not fill in completely, 2 small clusters started budding, growing and then failing. I went from amazement and hope to quickly questioning what happened and how can the Mushrooms and fungi block get back on track. This didn't go as planned or advertised.

I have done several mushroom kits in the past. This one was a total failure. Nothing spawned. I followed directions exactly and used purified water. It was sadly disappointing. In the past I have also purchased organic potting mix from this company and it was full of soil gnats that infested all of my indoor plants. I urge caution when considering purchasing anything from Back to the Roots. The mushroom kit was eligible for a return in store but I didn't feel like taking in a box of rotting mess for a customer service associate to have to deal with.

this product looked normal compared to products the same products I have bought before and had good luck this one did not produce a mushroom did all the same things I always do and I've purchased several before and they were good

It wasn't what I thought I was ordering. I believed I was getting the oyster mushroom and not a growing kit. I couldn't return it myself because I had no way to your stores which is the reason I order online.

did everything they said and they didn't grow it says guaranteed to grow so I'm going to be looking for my money back

Grows very poorly, did not include instructions or spray bottle like it was supposed to. Most of their products I've tried are not vey good. The hairy vetch is all rice hulls. And the field pies are just black eyed peas and they overcharge
