Best thing I've used in a long time! I have a big garden and do lots of yard work. No more problems with gnats or flying bugs !
On a recent summer trip to the North Woods of Wisconsin, I applied this before morning and evening strolls, lounging outside, horseback riding, and sitting at the water's edge at the lakes. It worked every time at keeping mosquitoes and flies from landing and biting, and buzzing close to my face. Just a small amount to the temples, tips of ears, and neck, and then on the ankles did the trick for me. The small tin was super convenient to keep with me in case a bit more was warranted. I loved not having to use the chemicals and avoiding that nasty sticky feeling of conventional bug spray. I also liked the smell.
I got my whole extended family hooked on this product. In 2019, I brought this with me to Italy where we were sleeping with the french doors wide open because it was so hot out. My friend and I applied it every night and even though we were sleeping closest to the doors, we didn't get any mosquito bites, and everyone else did. I think some reviews complain that bees or wasps are attracted to the scent, but that hasn't been my experience. I apply it every day before walking my dog out in hay fields in the hopes that it will help repel ticks, so far so good!
This bug balm is fabulous! It smells so nice and works really well. Haven't had one bite since I've been using it. And you hardly have to use any at all! A tiny bit of this products goes a really long way and it's not greasy feeling at all! I will definitely buy again when I run out!
When we discovered that we would need to wear bug spray every time we walked our dog after moving to a new area, I knew that I did not want all of the junk from supermarket bug sprays on our skin all the time. I picked up this bug balm after loving the sunscreen from Badger, and it has been great! The smell is pleasant, it is hydrating on the skin, great ingredients and sustainable packaging, and most importantly, it keeps the bugs away! This does feel a little bit more heavy duty than a day to day product, so I am looking forward to trying the Badger spray as well. I will definitely take this camping and hiking when we need some serious protection!
This balm has saved me and all of my friends from getting bit this summer in LA. The mosquitoes are fierce this season and this is the only bug balm/spray I trust. I actually prefer the balm over the spray because it smells better and is easier to apply.
It keeps the bugs at bay. Need I say more? It smells great and is easy to apply. Defiantly suggest if you are going for a hike or whatever have you will, to put it on before you leave the house. I do find it runs a bit oily. Not terrible, and it might just be my skin but it takes a bit longer to soak in.
So glad to have this back by in my life, No stores carry it here. My horses are happy to get relief from gnats and other biting pests that attack lighly furred area around sheath and teats. I'm happy that it's nontoxic. When I'm done applying to horses, I wipe my hands off on my arms. Works great
I use this on exposed skin, it works great! I've watched mosquitoes buzz in towards me and then fly away before landing, multiple times! I enjoy the same (and honestly sometimes better) bug protection than my DEET friends. When I use this everyone around me want to use some because it smells GREAT... so I've run out quick. I've found if you take a glob and rub/warm it between your hands it glides on easy. This is definitely my go-to from now on. I LOVE that it comes in a tin rather than plastic!!! I'm wondering what the plastic like wrapper the tin comes sealed in is made of? If #4 LDPE then it's recyclable, or maybe its biodegradable?
While not as effective against the truly nasty critters in the southeastern woods as some of the less planet-friendly options, I'll take these tins along for travel any time! The smell is WAY more pleasant and less chemical-y than those other options, too.
