Ball 12-Pack Wide Mouth Lids Without Bands

I bought some lids from Amazon on the cheap. Canned up a bunch of salsa and when I went to make sure the lids were sealed and they made big dents when tested with a spoon. Took off the lids and rings and was storing them and a lid came off. Ended up having to do everything over with these lids. They all sealed perfectly and I could hear them pop when they sealed.

Lesson learned: Ball lids are the only ones I buy from now on. Lesson learned: I am an experienced canner, I was given a pack of lids from a friend, so I decided to try just two of knock off brand, they distorted and didn’t seal properly. Doesn’t matter how much you save, it’s not worth all your time and effort for nutritious food if the lids fail.

I bought three cases of jars as a thank you gift to my sister in law who generously shares her home canned goods. Ball jars stand up to many seasons of use. It only makes sense to use Ball replacement lids with the Ball jars. So I sent her two boxes of these as well. She was thrilled to receive Ball jars and replacement lids

This was my first time going to the "Tower at Walmart" but it was cool ! Walk up, hold your phone to the scanner, and your item pops out with a knot tied in the sack. There has to be someone in the tower but we'll leave that up to the Myth Busters. lol

Get the best cause off brands don't seal and you will waste time and money making your preserves or canned goods

I returned these to the store as I have a million on hand and ordered them by mistake. BUT I like the wide mouth jars better than the regular ones as they're not ONLY easier to fill but also dig into!

These were always my go-to lids but I found my most recent purchase these are now pretty flimsy. I'm almost afraid to use them to can with as I don't want to waste my food.

The kids are thinner than they use to be. This is causing the kids to buckle while processing. Been canning for over 30 years and I’m staring to see more of this with the ball lids. Also, out the box they are coming rusted causing them to be a worthless purchase. Moving over to the reusable lids harvest guard.

This product price was inflated. I purchased it so I could let others know. Canning lids are scarce right now and I was told that there are people cleaning out all the store has in stock and reselling it for a profit online. These people are no different than the toilet paper scammers. Hopefully stores start limiting the product so people like you can't profit from the crisis situation anymore!

Why would I order a lid that cannot actually seal a jar? Do I just put it on and pray to pickle gods? Will ask for a refund.
