Ball Wide Mouth Lids with Bands, BPA Free, 12 Count

"Ball" is the ONLY brand I will use for pressure canning! I don't take chances that my hard work and food in my jars lose their seal. That's dangerous. Off brands are ok for "dry canning" like putting dry goods into a Mason jar with oxygen absorbers. Summary: Ball/Kerr is the best way to go for a secure seal when canning.

I would say hand wash them and let them air dry or they will rust. My husband washed them for me in the dishwater so glad I got this to replace my other ones.

I use them when I'm fermenting and canning, and for storing my dried fruit products in the pantry too. They are durable, and the wide mouth makes it easy to use the jars. There's so much you can use these jars and lids for, it should definitely be a staple in every kitchen! They stack great, don't easily break, and keeps your product staying fresh and top quality. The seal is great. I always trust all products by Ball!

I keep my salad, soups and a variety of food in those containers to eat healthier and fresh and one good way to keep my food safe is using the regular metallic lids, the plastics can’t do the same job.

I think the wide mouth lids and jars are so versatile! The size comparison photo is wide on the left and regular on the right. Liquids and sauces are perfect for the regular lids but the wide mouth ones are a must have! I will always repurchase!

The issue we run into is the lids will start to rust from frequent cleaning. Being able to use fresh lids when needed is very convenient. I

I can't but wonder what is wrong with the individuals who have given this product a bad review, because they believe "plastic" lids are shown. Ball doesn't even make plastic lids with bands. Their plastic lids are all one piece. The package pictured above clearly shows banded lids, and it says on the package, "Bands with Lids". Also the word "silver" appears several times on this page. There is only one error on this page regarding the lid material, and that is in the description where it incorrectly states the Material to be "plastic". Fuming with righteous indignation is hardly appropriate when you bear some of the responsibility for a mistaken order. In addition, to say in your review that the plastic lids are what is shown is false at best, and a lie at worst. Take some responsibility for what you commit write in posts like these. (If by chance, the photographs on this page were once of the the plastic lids, and have since been replaced/corrected, then my comments should be completely disregarded, and commend Walmart for being vigilant.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fit on my wide mouth jars. Retail price is good for a 12 pack. The lids are only one time use but the bands can be re-used with new lids. I always use ball products when I’m canning and have never had an issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always a trusted brand if you are pickling or making any sort of preserves. The only reason why I give this a four out of five stars is because after using it a few times I always seem to lose its pair. Since the lid and the screwing portion are two pieces Whenever I am done using it somehow one of the two gets lost and then it’s no longer usable. It’s really hard for me to understand why the two pieces cannot be merged into one. On a positive note it’s easier to clean in the inner part then if it were in one piece. Other than that, my biggest pet peeve is that I always seem to lose one of the two pieces.

I have used many brands of canning lids and purchased these because they were suppose to be better than most but for the first time they buckled which means the lids creased in a waterbath. So I'm assuming the quality isn't what it use to be. They did fit correctly and they did seal but the reliability of that seal is making me nervous.
