Using this for wild bird seed. Lid stays closed and it holds more than the 25 pound of bird seed. Love it! Was using a plastic rubber maid kind of container but they get brittle and break exposed to the sunlight and heat so this is a great alternative!
This is a great quality, heavy duty product and very happy it is MADE IN THE USA! We keep it outside, lined with a 13 gallon tall kitchen garbage bag. It fits just right around the opening rim. Then we shovel or scoop debris, dog dirt, etc into it and close the locking lid. Store until time to take down to the dumpster for garbage pickup.
Love this 10 gallon locking lid steel storage can! Needed something to store my bird seed in that the critters wouldn't be able to chew thru or get in to. The entire 40 lb bag of Wagner's Four Season Wild Bird Feed that I ordered at the same time fit in the can. Super convenient to use!
It's exactly what I have been looking for . Perfect size for my need .
Absolutely love this! My dogs have been able to get into every other food container I have ever bought.... Lol not now. It also holds a 30 pound bag of food and scoop no problem.
Great size, big enough to hold 40lb bag of dog food, yet not taking up too much space in the garage. Looking forward to mice not being able to raid the supply!
These are terrific utility pails for all sorts of things. I have one next to the grill/smoker for ash collection. Another, for bird feed. The lids lock tight, and well enough to keep any critters out. The galvanized steel will last nearly forever, and I store them outside on a covered balcony, but outside nonetheless. In New England, so they'll see plenty of weather. They are built tough, and the bonus is that the company, Behrens, manufactures them right here in the US. Can't go wrong with these. The only caveat is that they are not packed very well for shipping. Each time, these, and a 20 Gallon, came in fairly lightweight cardboard boxes with nothing but a small amount of paper in for protection. So if the box takes a hit, they might dent; one of mine arrive with a dent, but this is galvanized steel and is elastic enough that I was able to pop it out easily with a small suction cup.
Perfect size for storing grain and corn cobs for song birds and squirrels. Sturdy material at a good price and will last for years to come. However, gets a 4 star because locking mechanism is simply keeping the bail in the vertical position. Easy-peasy work for raccoons and squirrels to bust. Can and lid needs a 2-piece locking system with a spring loaded carabiner type latch.
I use these lidded locking cans (3 of them) for placement outside for my household garbage. They are the perfect size for the liners to fit each will hold an amount of trash that I can easily lift out to the curb for weekly trash pick up. The can I ordered was a replacement for one that was damaged %26 bent by high winds. I wanted it to match the other two. The photo shows that the can has the wire handle locking apparatus to keep the racoons out AND had the handle on the lid which I need %26 was an exact match to the other two cans. However, what arrived was not as pictured, the lid doesn't have a handle and that makes it difficult for me to open the lid. I have to pry it open and my old arthritic hands don't appreciate that. If it had the handle on the top of the lid, I would have given 5 stars.
The can was bent quite a bit on one side, but I needed it so I decided to just keep it and try to turn it so it wasn't so obvious. What is really disappointing is that the handle is too small and will not go over the top of the can, even without the lid … so you can't use the handle to carry the can….very disappointing.
