These Better Homes and Gardens glass food storage containers are wonderful!! They are so beautiful with the classic and clean look with their white lids that latch, locking in all the freshness of my fresh fruits and vegetables and they can be used in the microwave, freezer, and refrigerator it's ease due to their rectangular lines. They also have quality glass that has very nice quality latching lids. They definitely give oxo a run for their money. I love them so much I have been collecting every single size. I have the 4 cup, 10 cup, and the 14 cup sized rectangular glass storage containers and I love them for all of my food storage items. The gasket seals are great as well with the locking lids. I now need to get the 2/3 rd size containers and I'm all set. There's not one thing I can say negatively about them they are very high quality containers that don't cost an arm and a leg. Definitely a 10/10!! Most strongly recommend them!! You'll love them too!
Works like it should and holds a ton! Super happy with my purchase! I'm not sure this would be 100% leak proof upside down so don't flip it. My other containers have 4 clips for each side when this has only two which makes me hesitate about playing soup football. Still love it!
I switched to glass storage a long time ago. I purchased 2 of these thick glass containers because of the large volume it holds. These are fantastic for leftovers of soup or chili. They almost hold a gallon (14 cups). The rectangular shape makes it much easier to fit in the refrigerator. The lid has flimsy "locks" but the rest is wonderful. The redeeming factor is the lid can go in the top shelf of the dishwasher and the bottom can go anywhere there is room left in the dishwasher. Storing them in my cabinets is a dream. They are stackable and fit nicely with the rest of my glass storage containers. I have also purchased extras for my adult children. They loved them too!
I like the size of the bowl. It works for my purposes. I am unsurE about how to work the silicon lid/sea thingy. They showed diagrams but that is not helpful so I guess I have to wait and see. I am not sure if the instructions apply for daily use or only when you remove the silicon seal
It's not a matter of whether the lid latches will break; it's a matter of when they will break. I'm currently considering ways to use these convertible glass containers because the reason I bought them has completely changed. But wait, you can purchase the lids separately? No. Enjoy every minute of the five months you'll be able to use these. You only get one life, don't buy these containers.
It's hard to find glass storage in this large size, but with latches on only 2 sides, you just dont get as tight a seal as containers with 4 latches. Also the latches that are there come undone too easily, which gives the impression they are not greatly effective either. I can't speak to durability yet, but a glass dish this large is a bit awkward to wash/handle and could lead to drops and chipping of the rim.
It does not snap on securely and the rubber seal inside of it will not stay on. If used for things like soup it would most likely leak if not held very carefully as its just resting on there for the most part. This is after my first time using it. :(
I used one container one time and the other none and both lids have broken with their cheap flaps. One of them I was holding just to put the seal back on and it literally snapped off in my hand and the other broke when it fell off the top of the other onto the counter.....
I bought this and the lid broke after 3 uses. I thought I got a dud and like an idiot bought another one. Got 4 uses out of this one. I never put the lid in the dishwasher and wasn't trying to cram too much food into it. I do appreciate Walmart's customer service though!
Do not buy! Save your money! The lid design is faulty. If you break one snap you only have one left thus you can't really close the lid with just one snap. The snaps are faulty. I bought 3 of these and now I can't use them because the lids broke off!
