I have been using Collagen for a few years now, as recommended by my doctor for digestive care. I have been loyal to one brand, and used a powder form. However after reading about this company and the processing used for creating the collagen, I was more than happy to give theses a try. Having used a powder form for awhile now, pills would definitely be my preference. Three pills a day are recommended and they are easy to take, digestible, with no after taste. I’ve heard so much about collagen that I recently started using it. When the Spark Reviewer Program offered the BioOptimal Collagen Powder (Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides, Grass Fed, Non-GMO), I jumped at the chance. This brand of collagen is much purer and higher quality than what I’ve been using, so I’m excited to try it. The serving size is one small scoop (enclosed) dissolved in 8 oz. of either hot or cold non-carbonated liquid once a day. I first tried it in hot green tea. Not impressed. There was a very mild collagen taste. Then I tried orange juice. If it weren’t for the fact that it didn’t dissolve thoroughly and leave little lumps, I wouldn’t even have known it was there. No taste. Hot coffee was the same. I think it works best in liquids with stronger flavors. This would be great in smoothies. The canister has 45 servings in it.

I used this in my smoothies every day for about a month and a half. What I really like about it is that there was no flavor. It was there, I was getting all the benefits of the protein with very few calories but it didn’t change the taste of my smoothies. I also think that after that month and a half I felt better, my hair and nails seem to be in better shape as well. It’s on my list to pick up more next time I’m at Walmart.

Ok, I had always been interested if collagen pills actually worked so I was excited to see this item up for review. I am 54 years old and overweight like most of my peers. For the last few years my knees and other joints have “grinded” when I bend them. There was no pain, but I figured that would follow in a few more years. My sister was the one that suggested I try a collagen supplement. These BioOptimal Collagen Pills come in a bottle of 180 which will last 2 months because you take 3 capsules at a time. I did feel that the amount I had to take seemed like a lot. The capsules themselves are pretty large. With that being said, they were easily swallowed despite of their size. I have been taking these BioOptimal Collagen Capsules for the full 2 months to give an accurate review. I have to say that I have absolutely no “grinding” in my joints at all. My knees feel great! I have also noticed that my hair and nails are shinier and growing faster and thicker than before. I plan to continue using this product in the future. I definitely recommend it.

After adding to water, there is only a white ring around the top of the glass; otherwise, it is hard to discern there is anything in the cup of water. The container is huge and contains 45 servings to assist in skin, hair, nails, muscle, and joint health. After using this product for a week, I noticed my nails getting stronger.

I chose your brand after reading an independent testing report indicating that your products contain little to no harmful toxins compared to organic competitors. I enjoy the product and have noticed positive changes in my hair, nails, and skin. However, I am writing to express some concerns regarding the recent packaging update. While I appreciate the transition to smaller, more sustainable packaging, I have two specific questions: 1) Sodium Content - I noticed that sodium content is now listed on the label. Could you clarify if this is a new addition to the formula or if it was previously present but not disclosed?2) Serving Size Consistency - The old packaging listed a 10g serving size using a 25cc scoop, while the new packaging lists the same 10g serving size but provides a 20cc scoop. Could you explain how the serving weight remains the same despite the smaller scoop volume? I look forward to your clarification before I repurchase.
