Bite Away Insect Bite Relief Heat Pen for Mosquito & Insect Bite Itch

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, close to the marsh areas. We are always getting bit at sports practices and games. I seen a teammates mom bust this thing out and use it. She said she swore by this. So, I bought one. Next to this folding chair, this is a necessity. Sometimes it gets so bad even with spraying ourselves, we just sit in the suv. I seen one of our kids scratch his arm and I instantly pulled this out and used it. We all sat and watched him forget about his arm. It works.

I had a bee sting, I really didn’t think this would work. But I tried it anyway, and iactually works. The itching stops immediately. Fair warning though, this thing HURTS. It is 3 seconds of being completely convinced that you are burning a hole in your skin. If you can grit your teeth through that, you’re rewarded with no more itching. No marks left behind either.

I like to be outdoorsy, but the bugs and misquitos like me too much. Even with bug spray, I get bitten too much. When I get bit, I swell a lot with each bite. It is really bad. For decades, I got no relief other than using Calagel by Tecnu. Calagel works okay, but you have to apply it every few hours as it wears off quickly. And it really doesn't take much of the edge off. The very first time I used this device, it reduces swelling a lot and has taken almost all the itch away instantly. The relief lasts more than 5 hours for each time I use it. I think it is well worth the price. I wish I would have found this years ago. If you're on the fence, just buy it.

This is a cool tool to have and while I haven’t used it yet on an insect bite, I have inspected the device and packaging and I’m very impressed with the general quality of the item. When I have a mosquito bite come summer I’m sure it will work very well! Right now with it being winter in Ohio I don’t have an immediate need for it, but it will be a wonderful item to have come summer! Very much looking forward to it. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an innovative way to treat insect bites.

Pros Works Quickly You KNOW you have the right spot Cons It's a little HOT at first. I am one of those people who could be standing on the moon and somehow I still get bitten by bugs. Bite Away is easy to use, you just put it on the bite and press and hold the button. It's a little shocking at first how hot it feels but it works. After that the itch is gone. And really that's all I care about. This is much easier and less messy than AfterBite or one of the other anti-itch sticks.

I sure needed an insect bite remedy because I'm rural and have window units. I literally wakeup with insect bites somewhere on me almost everyday. Instead of the continuous use of ointments, I'm glad to apply this. The concept of Bite Away is to use heat up to 124°F on contact, which prompts your body to decrease the reaction to an insect bite like inflammation and itching. It's both FDA-cleared and dermatology tested. It's battery operated with 2, AA batteries that can be replaced. (You should get about 300 uses out of the batteries before replacing them.) Since there aren't any chemicals involved, you can repeat the heat treatment without harm. It has 2 settings: 3 second and 5 second. (The 3 second is recommended for first time application.) You can re-apply every 2 minutes if you wish, up to 5 times an hour. The device can be used by both adults and children-- 2 years old and up. Bite Away is ready to use as soon as you get it out of the box. You just press the left or right button, depending on your desired time. It does sting a bit since the little metal tip is heated. And it's addicting. The first day I had it, I was zapping at every red dot on my body. I can affirm the itching stopped right away on the bite I got on my face. I'll keep it handy and get a lot of use out of it.

Lucked out that I ended up getting stung in December in order to try Bite Away. I should have tried it ahead of time to know what to do so I wouldn't have panicked and made it difficult. Learn to use this before you really need to use it. I am proud to say that it did work. Took a few minutes but I managed to feel better even got the stinger out. I would recommend it. Learn first before you really need to use it.

I am impressed with the Bite Away insect sting and bite relief. It's compact and has a clip for attaching easily to a backpack or pocket. It puts out a hot short pulse that takes the itch away. My concern is it may be too hot to use on a child. It worked great for me and the heat only lasted a few seconds so an older child might be okay to use it. I also heard it can be used on cold sores to shorten healing time. I haven't used it for that yet. I will have to wait for warm weather to really test it but so far I'm happy with it.

This one is difficult to review. During the time I've had this, I didn't have any insect bites or stings to give it a real world review. I can't say if it actually relieves the it associated with stings. I can say that it heats up quickly and definitely sends a concentrated heat to a pinpointed area. It seems to be well constructed and convenient.

Take The Bite Away is a different way to treat pesky insect bites and stings using heat. The wand comes preset with two buttons, one for adults and the other for children making application easy and it does work. The only disadvantage I find the usage is recommended for one person and not for the whole family so each member would need their own.
