Wow, I was doing wrong.

Lisa April 6, 2026

I love this thing. Yet I almost returned it. So glad I didn't. I started writing a one star review and a friend stopped by and showed me I was doing it wrong. I placed the schader valve on the schader stem and it wouldn't fit., nor hold. Turns out I HAD THE LOCK HANDLE UP to start instead of DOWN, and when I put the handle down it wouldn't hold. I was doing it backwards, so of course it wouldn't work. HERE'S THE CORRECT WAY: LOCK HANDLE DOWN to attach SCHADER to SCHADER. LOCK HANDLE UP means it's LOCKED. UNLOCKED IS HANDLE DOWN LOCKED IS HANDLE UP

Ease of use, well made!

Betty August 19, 2025

Easy of use, I like the foot pump, my other stand up pump flew up into my ribs n broke 4 healing now, so this was a great solution. Great quality too! Definitely recommend!

The pump fits presta valves %26 regular valves, plus adapters. This durable Blackburn pump uses leg power to put air in your tires. It's a durable, good pump. I recommend it.

Easy to use. Very portable in truck or on quad for outdoor excursions, i.e., hunting, camping, off-road.

Good pump

Michael June 5, 2026

Works great for getting road tires up to the psi needed, though my 115 lb self does need to treat it like a pogo stick to get the air in.

Defective valve

LIAM February 17, 2026

This pump arrived with an incorrectly assembled dual valve!! It is unable to pump a schrader valve because the x-shaped pin designed to activate a schrader valve was placed inside of the presta valve instead, where the opening is just too small to fit a schrader valve and now i will need to take it apart and fix it myself!...

take your chances

Mark November 20, 2025

The Blackburn name has always carried weight with me as a quality product. But this doesn't live up to my previous experiences. The pressure dial doesn't work. i pumped it up and hoped it was safe.

Blackburn Foot pedal bike pump

WheelieBoot July 29, 2025

I had a foot pump before I bought 30 or 40 years ago so I figured this one might do. It was Blackburn brand, lots of good comments about Blackburn on Reddit. The first problem was the price. When I got to the checkstand it was way more than the price marked but I didn't want to hold up the line by going back to have them unlock the case and choose another, so I bought it. Tried to use it on my Huffy bike, and the valve clamp was misery to manipulate the lever, very hard to lock or unlock. Repeated attempts had varied results. No reading and no air coming through, or the foot pedal would only depress part way with no sign of air pressure. When it finally did show pressure, it jumped up to thirty and heavy foot pressure took a long effort to move it to 35, but the tire still was squishy flat. Tried again later, and after various difficulties, the pedal moved and it actually went up to 40psi. The tire was so rigid compared to the previous 35psi reading, the gauge reading was suspicious. I tried to pump a 12" pneumatic training wheel tire with the same type valve as the Huffy, and the head on the pump clamp was way too big to fit the space between the spokes, couldn't lock the valve to pump air.. Totally wrong choice of a pump. It looked solid, but it just doesn't work simply the way it's supposed to. I thought the hand plunger type would be more likely to break, I've had some of various brands before that didn't hold up, but this one was a real dog. The old pumps had lock assemblies made of metal and could replace them if the hose split, but the clamps were much more reliable. The internal pump parts broke before the valve head broke, and they were small not like this bulky thing. Now I have to shop pumps again, but the heads mostly look plastic.
