BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup Mill and Brew Programmable Coffee Maker with Built-in Grinder and Reusable Filter, CM5000B

We love this coffee maker! Though you can use ground coffee in this machine, we use exclusively whole beans to make our morning coffee. It takes a little experimentation to figure out the best bean-to-water ratio, but it is worth the effort, and perhaps a few pots that are too strong or weak. Converting back from using single-serve pods for a number of years, we are thrilled to have the freshest coffee ground from beans just minutes before consumption.

The only down side is the absence of a bean hopper. You must add beans for every brew, as there is no auto feed. Good brew quality, solid even grind. Fairly easy to clean. I like my coffee strong, and this will brew strong coffee. Pretty basic features. This actually keeps the pot warmer, longer than our old Cuisinart. I love the reusable filter, and none of those stupid "disposable" cups. This is what REAL 'eco-friendly" and smart looks like.

Bought this after owning several Krup grind and brews that broke year after year. I was shocked to find something that not only brews but also grinds at this price point. Usually they are at least twice as expensive and more. This machine has worked just fine so far. The coffee is good, it seems to grind all the beans fairly thoroughly. I haven't had any build issues so far and it's been about a month. The grinding is loud but no louder than my Krups or a stand alone grinder. I'm hoping this workmanlike little machine will last for a while, it comes with a 2 year warranty which is longer than any other, so that hopefully means they have faith in their product.

Loved it. Had the same model for over a decade and finally wore it out, so bought it again. We use it to mill our own beans every day.

Arrived on time. Well packaged. Generous carafe and water capacity. Appreciate the small footprint and nice design. Kind of odd to have the grind blades inside the filter basket but it works. Leaves a couple of beans whole in the grinder each time but minor flaw given it's overall performance and ease of use. Makes a nice hot cup of coffee and much quieter grind than other grind and brews I've used. Once I get beans to water ratio down, it will be golden! User friendly.

I really loved this mill and brew coffee maker. After a few years the carafe broke today. I am unable to find a replacement. Now I will have to buy a whole new unit just for a carafe.

I like the bean grinder and coffee maker. However, I broke the pot. Is there a way to get a replacement? The original pot may have had a flaw as the bottom dropped out it when I lightly hit the pot against the sink while scrubbing it.

The compartment that grinds beans doesn't latch

DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!!! This coffee maker worked ok at first but started steaming a lot. Coffee output got so bad that 9 cups of water would yield on 2 cups coffee due to steaming. Hot plate coating started peeling also. Have been trying to get seller Spectrum to honor the warranty but they do not care.
