Great trimmer that can be bought without battery
Glad this was sold without the battery. I finally burnt out my previous trimmer of the same type, and I already have 2 batteries having bought a new battery just a month ago. This trimmer is great. Lightweight…easy for me to use as an older woman. It extends, so it's long enough to save my back, as I'm tall and bending while trimming can really aggravate my lower back. It handles tough weeds in our rural yard. Love this trimmer!

Convenient Trimmer
I already had the B&D 40V hedge trimmer and this was an easy decision to purchase this trimmer. I have a Gas trimmer but sometimes there are only a couple of spots needing some touch up and I can grab this light weight tool and go. I love the variable speed motor and the easy to adjust handle.

works well. battery lasts to trim my whole yard.. and I have a big lot. love the ease of no power cord when using.

a great unit for small areas, 20 mins battery time
I used this unit for heavy cutting including blackberry vines. I cleared 1 plus acre of heavy weeds in a week. 2 batteries are necessary for 45 to 60 minutes of trimming. The reason I selected this unit is that I have allergies to gas fumes and I have solar for charging. This is not a heavy duty unit and I stripped out the nylon drive gear. B and D is out of stock of the gear. This is a great unit for most use and I am very satisfied with it.

Black & Decker 40V Max String Trimmer Bare
The item arrived in satisfactory condition, however, after using it three times in a three week period, it just stopped working. I had 2 new 40V Max Black & Decker Lithium Batteries to work with and those stopped working when the trimmer stopped. **It is important to note that those batteries do work in the alternate 40V MAX Blacker & Decker String Trimmer I have. So it is not a battery problem.
