40V MAX Lithium-Ion 24 in. Cordless Hedge Trimmer Kit (1.5 Ah)

I like this trimmer. It has enough power to do the job. I was trimming OVERGROWN hedge for about an hour (with breaks for raking, collecting cut branches) and battery was still going strong. It cuts about 3/8" branches witch ease however I did not have a chance to test this trimmer on 3/4" thick branches as advertised... But looks like it would do the job. I also own grass trimmer with the same 40V battery so .... technically I will never run out of power and have all my projects done. ;-)

I bought this to trim my cedar hedge which was quite overgrown. I've used it once. It is light and easy to use. It cut through the branches with no problem at all. I was particularly pleased with it because the branches were thick as they hadn't been trimmed for several years. I can recommend this trimmer without any hesitation.

the Black and Decker 40 volt cordless hedge trimmer is the way to go for trimming up hedges and small trees . . . also works great on tall weeds. 40 Volts provides plenty of power for everyday trimming chores. the battery lasts at least 45 minutes and after cutting plants for this length of time, at least an hour is needed to clean up the debris. the tool is light enough to swing around like a light Sabre but care must be taken to not cut hoses, cords and especially, fingers all of which fit easily into the blade; young children and pets should be cleared from the work area!

Having used a Black & Decker corded hedge trimmer for forty plus years I decided to go with their 40 volt cordless model. Only question is, why did I wait so long? This unit is plenty powerful and is really up to the task.

The Hedge Trimmer looks great but I bought it for a Christmas gift and it will not be used until next summer so its hard to say if it works well or not. My spouse liked the idea that he will not need to have cords to deal with so I expect that it was a terrific gift.

Hands down, this thing is a beast! Cuts effortlessly, while using very little energy from the battery. Very satisfied!!

Light weight. Easy to maneuver for trimming in all directions. Cuts fairly large stems. Pretty powerful. Good battery life.

I purchased the Black and Decker 24 inch, 40 Volt hedge trimmer after previously purchasing the companion string trimmer and blower/leaf vac. I have had great experiences with both of them, with the exception that the batteries take about 15 minutes longer to recharge than the run time on the string trimmer (25 - 35 minutes). So one of my justifications for purchasing this unit was to get a third battery and charger. By purchasing the hedge trimmer, I got it for about $35 more than the cost of just a battery. Now I can run continually with any of the three units by rotating batteries. (At least that is the justification that I gave my wife. Her reply was that now I'm not allowed to take breaks. My mistake there.) I am very pleased with the trimmer, although I have only used it once to cut down some overgrown yews. It powered through the rather tough branches easily. I didn't use it on the 3/4" branches that it is advertised for, but did cut right through many 1/2" and smaller branches with little effort. The safety switch is the most convenient one that I have every used. A plus there. The balance of the handle was very good. It was easy to maneuver around the bushes and keep in control. After using a corded B&D trimmer for 35 years (still runs well), it is nice not to have to worry about keeping the cord out of the blades. The only negative was that there is a black plastic guard that snaps in front of the handle to provide additional protection. It is designed to have some give rather than breaking, and has come off once while in use. I'm not sure that I had it fully snapped on, so that may have been operator error. However if it comes off again, it will be easy to add a small piece of tape to secure it. Other than that, this seems like a rock solid tool. I expect to get at least 15 years use out of it, then turn it over to my grandkids.

They sent me a hedge trimmer with a dead or defective battery. When I returned it they refunded the purchase price but NOT the sales tax ($11.73). Besides this, looking at several other peoples negative reviews, it appears items sold by CPO Commerce on Walmart Online Site appear to be used or refurbished items being sold as new?? I will be careful in the future and make sure I am not buying anything sold by CPO Commerce on the Walmart Online site
