First of all, my experience with Black and Decker is that they keep on working! My kitchen is now completely B%26D because they are the ones that never need to be replaced. I've made 2 pots of coffee daily for over 10 years and my `Dust Buster ` is working fine after 20 years of use with the original battery! NOW, the 12" 40 Volt Chainsaw is simply a cinch to use. Today, I cut up about a dozen 5" %26 6" thick trees and cut down a few branches. I haven't tried it on any logs though. I have no doubt that it will do just fine. It only used up one power level light when I finished. Just a couple of notes. The first battery charge takes nearly 5 hours. It has lots of juice! The chain tension adjustment is ingenious and it leaks ZERO chain oil. I feel that had I purchased this sooner, I wouldn't have had to replace my last couple of saws. I can't be more pleased with it! It's a good one!

B%26D is really a good brand..Cuts easy on branches and bathe battery life was great.. Item was received on time as promised..

My husband was skeptical when I told him I ordered this chainsaw to trim the alder & small trees on our property. However from the time he hit the start button he was super impressed & the old gas chainsaw remains in the garage. Lightweight and most importantly QUIET! We love it and have told all our friends about it & two are now proud owners also.

It's an okay chainsaw. Good battery that's interchangeable with other powertools I own. Not going to cut down a forest, but it does the kind of cutting I need. It leaks a bit even when unused, so only put a little oil in it before you use it, and check on it occasionally.

The chainsaw works good, but it does go through the bar oil fast.

I order this chainsaw for my wife. It didn't come with a battery. I double checked to make sure I had ordered the one that comes with a battery, cause I know they offer a bare tool also, and I had ordered the one with a battery.

At this time, I am not happy with this purchase. The battery that was shipped with the B%26D 40 volt chainsaw was defective and would not charge, so I have not been able to use the chainsaw or give proper feedback as to how well it works. Supposedly they are sending a replacement, but at this point, nothing has arrived. IF a replacement battery does arrive, I would be happy to update, and give a proper review of the chainsaw performance. That seems like a big IF at this time.

Item was shipped without a battery, even though the listing clearly showed the battery to be included, and the writeup stated how wonderful the battery life was. Item was returned immediately.

This thing has no power at all,after about 5 times of Barely using it I couldn’t cut through a 3 inch branch. I took it back and bought a real chainsaw cheaper than this and work a 10000!!! Times better.
