I am so impressed with this coffee maker. I have tried cheaper ones and when you would pour the coffee it would leak onto the counter. But this Black and Decker is the best coffee pot I have had in a long time. You need to order the smaller filters and not the larger ones.
I gave the Black Decker 5 cup coffee maker a well deserved five stars. It matched or exceeded all of my coffee making expectations. It's smart design lets me clearly see the water level in the reservoir. There's a super wide area for pouring water in. Brews up my coffee within three minutes and not one drop of coffee dripped out when I removed the carafe. My coffee has a nice rich coffee taste. Not a burnt taste like my previous slow as molasses coffee maker. And the price of the Black Decker 5 cup coffee maker really can't be beat. So I'm a very pleased coffee drinking customer.
BLACK %26 DECKER 5-cup Switch Coffee Maker. My husband doesn't drink coffee; it's just me drinking BREVE coffee. I only drink two cups of coffee a day and was trying to find a perfect coffee maker. This one is great for me. Coffee: 1 TBLS of ground up beans or regular ground coffee, 2 ounces of cold water per cup. I place the coffee into my trimmed coffee filter. Tea: 1 tea bag or 2 sachets, 2 ounces of cold water per cup. I place the tea directly into the pot. This also allows the tea to seep for 7-8 minutes, after brewing, to get the full flavor of the tea. Most of the time I go ahead and make a full pot of coffee or tea. I just double the amounts above. Regular mugs do not keep my coffee or tea hot enough for me so I pour the coffee or tea in an insulated coffee mug. I believe I prefer “slipping” rather than “drinking” my coffee or tea. Just in case your wondering, I have a larger coffee maker I use for family gatherings. This allows me to keep my 5-cup coffee maker on the counter, at my drink station near the sink. With family here, I bring out the larger coffee maker, which I keep stored under the counter. TIP: After looking at the cost of coffee filters for 5-cups, I refused to pay that much. I take 10-12 regular coffee filters placed all together, trim off around 1 inch from all around the top, and I have my coffee filters. I save money, which most of us are looking to do today.
This little 5-cupper works great. It makes very hot coffee and keeps it warm until you turn it off. The opening to pour your water in is large and makes it easy to fill with no spills. Takes about 10 minutes to brew and drain water from filter. When on sale for $21 it's a great bargain. No telling on longevity but so far I like this small machine.
This little pot is perfect for me ... it just fits in my small kitchen, makes a nice hot cup of joe, the coffee is flavorful, delish. I just had to purchase a reusable filter, and off to a great start of " coffee ~ love " ...... WOO~ HOO, YES ! Oh yes, I ' am ordering a replacement pot now just in case .... cheryl g. ... XOXOXO!... Thank You WALMART, YES ! ....
I ALWAYS PURCHASED BLACK %26 DEKER COFFEE MAKERS...BUT I AM LITTLE DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE IT LEAKS A LOT. I WILL OF COURSE USE IT, BUT THE QUALITY HAS CHANGED. TO BE HONEST THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE AND I CAN'T AFFORD SPENDING $60.00 OR MORE FOR A COFFEE MAKER.
It makes good coffee, and I love the 5 cup size. It's very difficult to find round coffee filters that fit it well. I've settled on unbleached ones that are designed for a larger pot and they work well. I would have preferred cone shaped filters and a little smaller unit (I had an old one that I loved, but they only last 4-5 years) and are not available any more.
I purchased this coffee maker online. It was shipped quickly %26 well packaged. But once I opened the coffee maker a part fell out of the package %26 even though I read the directions %26 viewed the list of parts for the coffee maker I was unable to find where to use the part that fell out. I decided to go ahead %26 try to see if the coffee maker would work but the water would not ciphon through to the carafe.
I've used this coffeepot style for years , first bought it for $9.99.. now upwards of $21 to $30 , so theres that .. its a 5 cup coffeemaker .. it actually makes 2 coffee mugs worth, not sure who drinks teeny tiny cups of coffee but don't expect to get more than 2 cups using standard coffee mugs. If you have well water or hard water, this needs cleaned out monthly … it takes about 5 minutes to make a pot of coffee whens its new .. it drops to about 10 minutes within a couple months .. if it gets calcium buildup it can take an hour and much of the fill water dissipates.. drops it down to 4 cups .. the main thing to know is this style for $21.44 comes with NO FILTER, YOU MUST BUY PAPER FILTERS OR BUY A SUITABLE SIZED MESH COFFEE FILTER , which typically costs around $10. So now your $21 coffeemaker is over $30 and if you didn't already have some sort of filter on hand either paper or mesh, you can't make coffee right away .. the temperature of freshly made coffee is a good temp, not scalding hot but not pisswarm either, I turn off the pot so the hot plate turns off, leaving it on makes the coffee taste burnt if left for even an hour , you're better off to reheat it in the microwave Its a decent cheapie small coffee pot for one person, expect to replace every 2 years .. ( buy a backup if you find a good price .. you never know price increase lol ) if you have hard water, even taking it completely apart you cant really fix the calcium build up, trust me ..we tried .. even bought a special tool to be able to open the tamper proof screw. It has a small footprint which is a good thing if your kitchen space is limited, but really short cord, maybe 20-24 inches , keep that in mind .. it is also very lightweight, you need to hold the pot in place when you push the on switch .
This product is not as advertised. The description online says it DOES come with a permanent filter. Open the box and there is no permanent filter and an italicized line on the pamphlet saying permanent filter not available in all models. After reading other reviews it clearly wasn't left out by mistake it simply doesn't come with one, although Walmarts description online says it does
