mine did not come with a lid for thing you put coffee beans in, i just held hand over i make 6 cup or less i'm sure anything could be used as lid. you must push down on hopper to get it to start

We just received our purchase (VAVSEA Coffee Grinder Model HY1421) and really enjoy using it with our French Press. The grind setting ranges from Course for French Press to Fine for Espresso and is easy to set. We like the size of the unit because we can choose 4 cups (range is from 3-18 cup capability) and can grind only what we need instead of having to grind an entire bag of beans. The unit is easy to disassemble for cleaning %26 reassemble. We also chose this unit because it uses stainless conical grinding plates instead of blades. This is a great unit for the price.

Works great and doesn't take up much counter space! Can be a little messy because of the static electricity that builds up on the plastic hopper during the grind, and a little access will dribble out when you remove the hopper. That's perfectly understandable and doesn't bother me! A great little machine at a great price!

It grinds nicely and I like mine fine. The only negative is it is a little clunky moving the container in and out, fits tightly. The other thing is there is no way to take the lid off without a little bit of grounds falling out of the lid. But for the price it is a good value.

If you like coffee and you can only get it and beans, this is a nice machine buy one because it's something that you'll need and something that you'll use. If you can only get coffee and in the beans best machine I use already except it can only ground 2 cups at a time it's fine, but at least it grinds the beans thanks that it's a good machine.

Compaired to a hand burr grinder I had previously, this is not better. The grinds are very inconsistent, in fact even on the most coarse setting you get a very fine powder at first that can effect the final flavor of the coffee. As for cleaning, it is very difficult. the capture basket doesn't sit flush enough to the grinder outlet so there can be tiny specks of coffee flying out of the gaps. I only suggest getting this if You are in need of a quick cheap "Burr" grinder.

It's plastic construction and it got pretty hot when we ground up our 1st cup (unit's cup) of beans. We started in the middle thinking we would get a medium grind, but it was VERY fine. Gonna pay the extra $20 to replace the cuisinart. It lasted almost 10 years, but the burr is worn.

For the price this coffee grinder had the potential to be excellent due to the features it sported. In reality it failed in the most basic way. The grind adjustment only produced a very fine espresso grind which left sludge in my cup after making coffee in my french press. And the machine turned on and off intermittently without any human participation. As a result I had to leave it unplugged when not in use. Difficult to clean the grinder head.

This grinder looks nice but it's not nice when it comes to functionality, coffee grounds always spill as it's grinding and the coffee beans don't come down into the blades smoothly so it doesn't actually grind the right amount because of this, returning this item

First time using it. Wanted a fine grind and the finest setting was looking very coarse. I used the largest setting to see if the dial may just be miscalibrated. I put it on the 6 second timer. After 3 seconds it started making a funny sound and then smoking!!! I had to quickly unplug it. My house stinks. And it's winter so I can't open windows.
