This little heater does just what I thought it would do- no more, no less. It's just a small space heater. My only nit- pic is the handle that is built into the casing. It is not much of a handle and does not help too much when moving the heater from one spot to another. Not a deal breaker. A red light glows if the heater is simply plugged in- all the time. I wish that light would just come on when the heater is turned on. I am satisfied with this little, inexpensive heater.
FAST shipping! Looks similar to most other space heaters in size, function and appearance. I have only had it for less than one full day, but this Black and Decker unit appears to be a notch above, (better), than other space heaters that I have tried. Costing about the same $, that would make it a winner! I bought this unit because of Black and Decker because their long history of making good products. So far, so REALLY good. Tim R.
This appears to be a heavy-duty space heater that will work well in our garage. The temperature control is especially nice because we rarely need to use the garage but like it at 68 degrees F when we need it. I checked the temperature control and it turned on-and-off as expected, even at 45 degrees. The unit is large enough to heat an area of 400 sq. feet (insulated) when it is 30 degrees outside. The heater has been on sale for a couple of weeks---I bought another one for our cold basement. Recommended.
Only gave 4 stars because of push plug problem. Unit won't turn on if plug not pushed in because unit thinks it's tipped over. There was a little issue on the bottom where the push plug wouldn't get pushed in enough to start the heater but we resolved by putting a small piece of tape on the bottom of the push plug so it would make enough contact to allow the unit to turn on. Purchased 2, same issue with both. Also, must also be careful when turned on as the wire mesh in the front will get hot so must keep away from pets and kids. Other than that, a nice inexpensive space heater.
It does work (if you put something under it) I had it sitting on the floor at work and it was working fine for about 20 minutes and just shut off out of nowhere. It came back on after I put a book under the front. The button on the bottom keeps messing up and every 20 to 30 minutes you have to reposition it. I just use it at work so it's not going to be a big deal but it's definitely an inconvenience. You get what you pay for, it was cheap therefore a cheaply made product that only works part time.
The safety feature hinders use. There is a button underneath that triggers when it is moved and it shuts down automatically. But, the caveat is that if it is not places on a certain type of service it won't come on at all. The button was not engaged in flat surfaces and wouldn't turn the unit on.
Item was defective. Only worked if you held the heater with your finger holding the switch on the bottom in. I am going to return it and buy something else.
the delivery company that you chose to deliver the item did not deliver it to my house they didn't even have a tracking record they delivered it somewhere else yesterday in the picture it's not my place I'm very disappointed because she used on track delivery service it's not UPS or FedEx I will not have this problem if you use the proper people I'm very disappointed in Walmart
First off, it was defective upon arrival. There's two knobs/switches: One for controlling the temperature and one for controlling the on and off, fan and such. The second knob I listed just now, wasn't working. It just wouldn't move or budge. The temperature one works just fine, though. Second off, it's pretty stingy with the outlets it works on. Third off, it's annoying to try to turn on. The indicator light doesn't always turn on just by plugging the heater in and you might have to do some smacking, tipping it over and such. That'll get annoying. Cheap product, will be refunding and getting an entirely different one.
This was not a good product for me. The tilt button on the bottom makes if difficult to keep the heater running. When turning it on I have to constantly tap it to get it to work. If it gets tapped (barely) it cuts off. I bought it in the summer for the winter and now I cannot return it. Also it is not as warm as I would like. 😝
