Blackstone 1924 28” Propane Griddle Cooking Station with Hard Cover

I love this griddle! I had been eyeing the Tailgater for my travel trailer for a while, but when I had the chance, I got the 28" with the hard cover for my home instead. As a hobbyist fabricator, I was impressed with the quality of the metal this product is made with. Everything is heavy gauge. The assembly is so simple. I'm not a huge fan of the plastic knobs, and the ignitor seems cheap, but we'll see. I imagine they will hold up just fine and if not, Blackstone has them listed on their website as replacement parts. I am planning to build a backyard BBQ/grille station and this griddle will be hard mounted in a concrete countertop, so I did not attach the side tables, but even those are made from impressively thick metal. I was not sure what size to go with, but for my family of four, the 28" has ample room for whatever meat plus veggies or bread on it all at the same time. I love cooking outdoors, usually on my charcoal kettle, but my wife LOVES the char and flavor this griddle gives to food. I just did burgers, veggies, and peppers on it last night and even though she is used to my amazing cooking skills, she commented on how the flavor of everything was somehow just better. No need to use my cast iron skillet and make a mess all over the stove, now I just go outside!

Performs as expected. Prefer the versatility of a flat surface grill. Provides the opportunity to do things like cook, breakfast vegetables, and fish. It also seems to get hotter faster. I also like that when we are cooking marinated things, the marinade isn’t dripping off the food as it’s cooking.

Simple assembly and everything arrived in great shape. Within an hour I was seasoning the griddle. I have a Big Green Egg and Weber S-435 gas grill. This grill is equal in quality and we love using it. Since we got it, we have used it three times a week. If you are considering one, don’t wait. You will love this product.

Seems to be a good compromise between size and convenience… enough working room for a meal for four or so. My only reservation is the limited utility of the cover, which can be hung rather inelegantly off the back of the griddle at an angle due to the location of the grease trap. A poor design, in my opinion. Otherwise, very pleased with performance so far.

This product was easy to assemble. Very good directions were for seasoning and clean-up was very easy after first cook. I really loved the ability to controll the heat and not having flare-ups. We had the best meal I had ever prepared while cooking on a grill or griddle.

This is the second Blackstone we buy. The 36” for the cottage and the 28”for the house. We entertain a lot and love the convenience and easy cleanup of making breakfasts, lunches and suppers for our friends and family. We made some amazing smash burgers last night for the family. Best burger ever!

I don't know what it's like to cook in my kitchen anymore. One of my favorite things to cook on the flat top is rice noodles with shrimp. Absolutely love my Blackstone.

Four stars because the two side pieces came with giant advertising stickers that would not come off. Used goo gone and a razor blade and still the sticker residue will not come off. Reached out to customer service and they were great to speak to and they are sending new side peices but I don't know why you would ruin the grill with these stickers in the first place. The grill works great and we have a great time using it! Definitly recommend the grill to others!

This is a great griddle grill. I highly recommend doing the seasoning process at least 5 times. This has been the best griddle grill I have used and love the way it cooks. The only thing I wish was different is the cover. If it was an easy cover to use such as it being connected to the grill and just able to lift it up, it would make the grill a lot more convenient. The handles get extremely hot and can be hard to reach across the grill to hook it to the backside. A huge inconvenience for a large grill and could have easily been improved to be better. Other than that, I love it!

I bought for Father’s Day. Nothing will tighten up and we can’t get the griddle part to lock into place. The lid is so tight/ bent that it took both of us to get it off. And that’s holding the griddle part down and pulling the lid as hard as possible!!! VERY disappointing!!!!
