I'm going to start out with I would recommend ... with warning. I'll change that if my use of the product proves to be worse. I was able to get everything working - needed batteries %26 pairing one outlet.
Biggest issue (like many others stated) product appears to be used when received. I think their assembly line is probably sloppy. The outlets were not in order %26 2 were barely snugged to the other 3. The remotes %26 batteries are loose %26 the batteries are dead. Pretty sure this marketing tool of "includes batteries" but they're dead saves the mfgr some bucks, because the purchaser will probably go buy them to try it - after all it was bought for remote switching. Fortunately, I have these batteries on hand.
In my case one of the remote buttons seemed to not work as well. It was merely a programming/pairing issue - instructions are a little sketchy with pairing/learning. But it did work to get the remote/outlet working. It's a nice feature to be able to have a group of lights controlled together (my last set did not do that - but it's probably 20 years old - based on the way things are mfg today I don't expect the same results anymore from any product). The only reason I'm replacing my old set is that I have a new neighbor %26 I believe something in their house is triggering my outlets - they're turning on randomly %26 only started since they moved in %26 I'm hoping a newer remote set will eliminate this problem.
That said it seems to be working. The 2 remotes are nice to have because I keep one in our family room %26 one at my bedside - if I need to light up the entry/main room before leaving my bedroom it's perfect - I figure if I hear a strange noise I want the main room lit up first. I honestly didn't need 5 (but may come in handy at some point) I just wanted 2 remotes.
I have tested all the remotes and buttons. You can see indicator lights and hear a click sound from the outlet part. If all the remotes are paired correctly and you're not grouping lights - installation is as easy as plug in wall, plug in light %26 hit corresponding button on remote. It's really convenient to have a remote outlet for lights that are out of the way to be switched by hand (I have lights set on top of a wall unit - because there's no overhead light in the room %26 the only other lights/switches for that room are opposite my bedroom %26 far enough away from being convenient - I'd have to cross the room to get to them - yes bad home design I suppose). The outlets are smaller than my original (in pics)
So overall at this point - minor inconvenience %26 expense of a battery %26 reprogramming - but all items are in working condition. Time will tell otherwise.
